I trust that the SA have already done a 3D computer animation of the duct tape w/exact measurements corresponding to a "bust" of Caylee's face OR they will have someone like Frank Bender do a sculpture or some other visual for the jury to support their theory. I don't think they will leave any doubt in any juror's mind if left up to "common sense". (no offense, I just think it would be such a much more massive impact on the jury to actually see the duct tape in place). IMO

I believe the jury will see the actual photos of Caylee's skull with the duct tape in place and will be able to see that would indeed suffocate a child to death. I should have phrased it a bit different. I don't believe the State will present their theory without showing the actual autopsy photos or the 3D rendering.

Traveling @ the moment. Have requested another mod merge this thread w/ the most current/open "theories' thread (#8 IIRC). Just FYI.

As Joypath has said on here, the ME will be able to expand on her findings during the trial. Their written reports have to be framed in legalese, but she is free to express her opinion in Court.

And depending on how eloquent a speaker the prosecutor is regarding how she suffered - that will make the difference between life and death. But the thing is

what I get from her putting tape around the nose and the mouth is that Caylee is not dead but asleep and she will wake up. I don't know if someone is drugged with chloroform and asleep will they wake up when their air is cut off? If so, she is thrashing, BUT from the outline of the body in the trunk (which the FBI says is Caylee) she was asleep. Maybe she just went to sleep and she put her in the trunk and she died in her sleep. Maybe she woke up for seconds - I don't know.

Any thoughts?

Agreed. They have to show the photos of the tape around the skull. Absolutely. They just can't say it was and not prove it. Horrible.

The purpose of Chloroform is to render a person unconscious, not for sleep.
IMO there is only one purpose of duct tape across the nose and mouth and that is to kill.

Thanks! I missed that post.

wenwe, I am aware that the State is making a 3D animation of the skull and placement of duct tape, but do you think we the public will be able to see it?

To be fair, I am not aware or even sure the State will make a 3D animation or a "bust" of little Caylee and duct tape; but I think it will be the most damning evidence (if they do) against KC and the fact it matches (similar) to the Henkle tape @ the A home (and subsequent poster hanging) will be the nail in her coffin. I think the public will see a 'toned down version' of the actual visual presentation in court. These are just my musings (since you asked) and not necessarily represented by others here @ WS.

We know from JA's brief description in that court room hearing that the State believes the tape was put on before Caylee died.

I know defense won't ever come close to admitting Casey did anything, so they're going to be forced to try to skirt the issue or else argue that the tape was put on after - which would mean Casey did put the tape on but after.

No, the Defense team will not be able to skirt the issue that the tape was what likely killed Caylee because the State is going to take it there in all it's horrid details as they should.

Get ready for some more crazy theories to avoid admitting the duct tape, blanket, heart sticker, etc., all came from the Anthony home.

Somewhere in the doc dump were lots of pages of the costs the SAO has spent to that date. IIRC, there was some that had this info. Or we were discussing it. AZlawyer might remember more about it. We discussed it in the duct tape thread, I believe.

I'm still waiting for the first mention of Zanny from them. Two years later and she is still conspicuously absent from their conversations....

I wish I had the link to the evidence (early on) pertaining to the air samples. I believe that it stated that there was an element(s), in the samples that were taken from the trunk, that determined there was a lack of oxygen present. I'm pretty sure that is correct. Here's the link...

I personally think she dies of a chloroform (and possibly other sedatives) overdose, (and although I hate to think about it) and suffocated. Whether it be because of the duct tape over her face, or the lack of oxygen by being placed in a very hot trunk. Probably all of the above.:(

Caylee's death can be hypothesized by many manners, some absolutely impossible for a lay person to imagine. These are the points that can be presented as there are no forensic clues that WE are "in the know about" regarding specific violent death mechanisms (stabbing, strangling, shooting, etc). Rest assured, the mechanism of death by asphyxiation WILL be presented in graphic detail, the effects of the temperature and dehydration on the body WILL be presented, the psychological and subsequent biological repercussions WILL be discussed IN DETAIL and the impact of EACH and every delta of the biochemical markers WILL be correlated from the ADULT experience to the dramatic and DANGEROUS impact that it has on a TODDLER! :furious: Or at least that's how I'd testify!:furious:

I believe Casey decided to get rid of Caylee a long time prior to her death. She googled missing children to research stories and mimic reactions.

I believe she overheard Iassen and others back from the war, talking about the effects of chloraform on POW's. This peaked her interest, as benadryl only goes so far. I believe she made it herself, after researching it in March.

I think there was a catalyst that made her put her well rehearsed plan into action. What is was, I don't know.

Also, I don't think the tape was meant to be removed because it was in the childs hair. You wouldn't tape her hair if you were ever planning on removing the tape. I believe it was the murder weapon. She later returned the tape so that her parents wouldn't notice it missing. I think she knocked her out so that she would not fight against the duct tape, and the murder would be less messy. Hopefully, Caylee didn't awaken with the tape over her mouth. God Bless Caylee. Casey deserves death. She completely premeditated planned and attempted to cover up her crime.

Who th H777knows????????? Anything could have happened? No one can say but MOTY? She Did this to Caylee and we will have to wait on her justice?????????

Whoa! I've never thought about that before. I think you're on to something.

Casey has no conscience because she allows herself to have no conscience.

Perhaps duct tape was placed on Caylee before putting her in the trunk alive. Whether or not chloroform was used doesn't matter.

Duct tape and her in the trunk would muffle her screams/cries for help. (choking back tears even fathoming this)

Out of sight and out of mind for Casey so she doesn't have to even think about feeling anything. Then the smell came..and it didn't bring about any feelings in Casey other than to get rid of evidence as much as possible and try and cover her own you-know-what. MOO

The ME stated it was Homicide by undetermined means (due to lack of organs/tissue/etc :( )

We will never see the autopsy photos, and I doubt the placement of the tape, but I trust that the DA has enough evidence, and the jury will have enough common sense to know that placing tape over a child's mouth and nasal apertures would suffocate a 2 1/2 year old child to death.

If you could would you look at the autopsy pictures?

My gut answer would be yes...
But I bet after the fact i would wish I hadn't seen them.

Something tells me that if I saw them it would answer nagging questions i have about how the tape was placed.

IMHO

Fry: I'd want to go one better on this; I'd want to not only LOOK at the pictures, but also COMPARE them to the model (please State have a 3D model available for Jan's demo to describe the PROBABLE manner of positioning) and TOUCH the pieces of tape (yeah, even if they ARE in evidence bags!). Should all of these items be entered into evidence during the trial and get to sit in the jury room during the deliberations, well I believe FIRMLY the State's case is made regarding homicide and reasonable doubt against it flies out the window. The hypothesis of "floating tape" or "random debris" would join the InVISInanny & the climbing dead critters of Anthony speak, Cheney Mason can walk out arm & arm with Jose & the defense gang but not ICA!

:twocents:Back to basics: :twocents:this is a murder case where a child has been murdered by a parent, it appears to be a culmination of a "silent, covert child abuse case", child abuse by building neglect where the victim progressed in HER anticipated growth & maturity development and the perp regressed in her ability to function in her adult, mature responsible role. There is NOTHING special about this case other than the amount of publicity generated by the absurd behaviors from the characters in the breach of reality play!:furious: There do not seem to be laws against stupidity and enabling adult children's behaviors into lawlessness or GA & CA would be facing some DIRECT responsibility for Caylee's demise but there are codes of morality that most of humanity live by and someday.....

Has anyone else wondered if it can be proven that the tape was placed 1) over her nose 2) with the intention to suffocate her? What first comes to mind from the chloroform and the tape is "shut her up". As horrible as that alone is, it`s not yet first degree murder.

The NORMAL human response to an accident is to seek help not to coverup. Then to go a step further and to be seen on video armpit to armpit with her main squeeze at the time a small child should have been seen in her company....."accident" is not a word that would come to mind. jmo

I see what you mean, but even if it was an "accident", there was chloroform and duct tape involved- a horrible crime anyway.

I do believe she murdered her, but I am wondering if the method can be proven as in duct tape over her nose to suffocate.
