Defense team for Davidson receives death threats that are being investigated by the FBI.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The FBI is investigating death threats against LeMaricus Davidson's defense team, the attorneys said Friday.




Attorneys David Eldridge and Doug Trant told 6 News they have received numerous threats to themselves and their families since they took on the defense of Davidson. He is one of four defendants charged in the abduction, rapes and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

Opening arguments for LeMaricus Davidson's trial on charges in the abduction, rapes and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom are scheduled to begin Monday.
Twelve jurors and three alternate jurors that will hear testimony and decide Davidson's guilt or innocence are to be sequestered beginning Sunday night, Judge Richard Baumgartner said Friday.
Before opening arguments on Monday, the judge plans to question jurors on whether they've avoided pre-trial publicity as they have been instructed to do.
