I know this is a moot point because the episode with Ms. Manning fainting didn't amount to a mistrial but I thought that it was important to note that during a break (I believe it was right after lunch) when everyone came into the courtroom, the judge stated to the bailiff that it was mentioned to him that the audience felt it was cold in the courtroom and if he could turn the heat up. He turned it up and then before the next break, the fainting episode occured. This could have been one of the many reasons for her to have fainted. I guess what I am saying is that if the defense should EVER use this episode for a reason in an appeal, the temperature in the court needs to be brought up because I don't believe this was stated on the record and I know it was before the jury was brought in that the heat was turned up.

While I mostly lurk, I do follow this thread everyday. I just want to give a huge THANKS to those that give their time to post the daily events.
Of all the threads that I have followed, this one turns my stomach the most! I can't help but feel for these kids and their hurting parents. I don't think I would have handled it with such professionalism, as they have done. I would have crawled across the table to get my hands around his neck! Even if Davidson is given the DP, I don't feel that is appropriate justice. I know God will serve justice, and revenge is not ours to have. However, I would like to see these criminals bound and Channon's father allowed to inflict his own justice upon them.
One of the things I can't understand is that the defense keeps trying to make the point that these kids had some drugs in their system. So what? What if they were stoned out of their mind, which we know they weren't. What if they did go there to buy drugs, which we know they didn't. What if their car did run out of gas and they were asking for money, which we know didn't happen. This doesn't give these non-human the right to commit the crimes they did. No matter how you dress him up, there is nothing positive that can be said about Davidson, or the others for that matter.
Anyhow, I just wanted to say Thanks for all your work. I didn't intend to rant.

What really gets me about the woman's testimony is that she sees chris and shannon at this busy convience store. She says there are lots of others around. And yet, the only person who comes forward, the only person in all of Knoxville that happened to see the couple at the Cherry St store also HAPPENS to know Slim. Hmmmm, wow.

Exactly! I gotta believe this jury is smart enough to ask, "What are the odds?"

And these two yahoos were the defense's entire case?

What do you think about the odds are of LD testifying, and results of it if he does? :waitasec: I'm thinking he's going to feel like he has nothing to lose at this point.

Letalvis Cobbins moved to permanent facility
Letalvis Cobbins has been moved to his permanent prison home in Whiteville, Tennessee.

Cobbins has been staying at the Charles Bass Correctional Complex since August 27th. That's the day after he was sentenced to life without the possiblity of parole for the premeditated murder of Channon Christian.

The convicted killer was moved to the Hardeman County Correctional Facility this week.

Cobbins will be back in Knox County for another sentencing hearing on November 20th. That's when he will face Judge Baumgartner for his lesser charges such as rape, kidnapping and the theft of Christian and Chris Newsom.

I think that Davidson is just as conceited as Cobbins was and thinks that he is smarter than the jury and prosecution, so I hope he does testify. Let him hang himself.

I would like to see him testify and I would love to see TK take him apart on the stand. However, I hope he doesn't, only because I don't want their parents to have to listen to his lies. They've been thru enough.

Well according to someone on the prison talk forum: Whitesville is one of the worst prisons, pure hell hole and they don't get much to eat. Awwwww

If he's a neighbor I'll bet the perps told him if he didn't take the stand on their behalf he'd be the next one on the railroad tracks.

I believe you are 100% right on that. Plus he could be in prison before too long anyway and done in there.

First thing Monday morning, Judge Baumgartner will hear a motion from Susan Hill's attorney to block her supoena. Hill does not want to testify on behalf of Davidson because she fears for her life.

Davidson's attorneys are asking the judge to shut down the cameras so Hill can take the stand.

Seen this in the paper anyone know who she is?

They were hiding her for more torture after Daphne left, none of the others would help/save her... yet they don't ALL deserve the death penalty just as much as anyone in history? Something that has bothered me ever since the cell phone records testimony was that Channon Christian's phone was used to call voicemail at 3am. I couldn't understand why they would allow her to call her voicemail or why they would use her phone to call voicemail. I couldn't believe that she would call her voicemail. So that has been going through my mind for DAYS! Then BINGO! I remembered a comment that the defense made to one of the cell phone guys regarding accidentally dialing a number when your cell phone is in your pocket. What if they had her phone in one of their pockets and it dialed her voicemail by accident? The cell phone guys couldn't say whether or not the voicemail was actually retrieved or not. What if the phone dialed voicemail and after no response for the passcode, it hung up on itself after 83 seconds? What gets me is that the DEFENSE actually gave me the answer that I was looking for by their own hypothetical!

Evidence seized from the Chipman Street house suggested as much. Christian had a debit card in her possession the night of her death and had made recent deposits of paychecks totaling more than $600. Both Christian and Newsom held jobs.
Jurors seemed suspicious, if their questions were any indication. Several pressed her to describe the couple's attire. Although Freeman said Christian, sporting hot pink high heels, was seated in the passenger seat of her SUV with the door open, she insisted she could not recall what the couple was wearing.
Jurors also took note of Christian's debit card, which bore Davidson's fingerprint, asking Freeman if the Exxon offered the pay-at-the-pump option.

In our dreams, but the reality is that, if these are gang guys, and I'm not sure about Cobbins, they have homies in jail and, relatively speaking given their hell-hole circumstances, live a safer existance than some others.
