Gary: "I've been angry for three years."

Mr Newsom: "We've been down to the courthouse 72 times."

Deena: "We're not gonna stop til they're all behind bars."

Mr Newsom: "When they're all behind bars, your nieces, grandmothers and relatives will all be much safer."

Gary: "I want everyone to take away one thing about our daughter. She wasn't perfect. We never said she was perfect. But the people that knew her the best, love her... She will never ever go away in their hearts. I wonder what the people who are gonna be brought in here tomorrow, to hyperventilate or w/e tomorrow... will be remembering about Davidson when he's gone. Because it's comin', it's comin."

I wonder if Davidson's witnesses will scatter like cockroaches after, like they did in Cobbin's trial.

I love Gary he is going to go after this justice system..which is what they should!! I'm behind them and I know everyone else on this board is!!!!!!!!!!

I'm ready to fight on the same side with him. A FAIR trial is important, but we've gone way too far in elevating the rights of the defense over everything else, over justice for victims, over justice for society, over protection for society.

Sure wish Oprah would have these families on.

Attorney on tv saying the justice system is designed to give the defendant a fair trial.

Annoys the hell out of me that the WBIR reporter chose a defense attorney to give the post-game commentary.

ETA: I see that he's also listed as the WBIR legal analyst, but still. He's a defense atty, defending the system and sleazy defense team from the valid criticisms the family has.

Mr. Christian: The people they bring in here tomorrow to hyperventilate, pass out and God knows what else----what will they remember about Davidson when he is gone??

I love me some Christian and Newsom family.

If they're starting at 9am tomorrow w mitigation list, I'm guessing they probably won't begin witness impact statements til mid-morning and probably not getting into sentencing til later in the afternoon... right?

:parrot:

Gezzzz they are going to bring up in court how much it cost to put a person to death vs housing an inmate for life. Unreal!!!

Yes yo' WAAAYYYyyy too far. And Mr Newsom's totally right--the defense attorney's aren't even sworn to tell the truth and are allowed to come into court and tell w/e lies they want, it's absurd.

Unfortunately that's fair at ALL costs, no matter what the financial expense to society, no matter what damage is done to reputation of victims, ho matter how much inconvenience it is to families, courts or witnesses, no matter how much carnage it generates in general society or how much emotional pain it heaps on survivors or FUTURE VICTIMS. There needs to be some balance between interests. As a society, we've lost that. It needs to be restored.

Thank you Suzi, Muffet, and everyone else who kept all of us informed on what was happening! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

I'm glad that someone is FINALLY being held accountable for Chris's murder.

I think the jury would have gladly sentenced "Mr. Gutter Slim" to death today, if given the option.

The sheer brutality of this crime should ensure that he gets the DP. I think it should be carried out immediately, not 20 years from now.

I also wanted to say I agree with the poster that said that she thinks that some of Channon's injuries were from VC hitting her in the genital area. I think VC is more culpable than anyone knows!

I will try to be here tomorrow.

If I was a juror, cost of the death penalty wouldn't matter to me. Sometimes there is the cost of doing business and you just shut up and pay the bill.

Agree. Instead of a deterrent, the current legal climate actually increases license. It's crazy. :banghead:

Did you all have the delight to hear all the character witness' in Cobbins trial? They were all crying and hyperventilating, blaming Davidson, not Cobbins. It was disgusting and they all left before the sentencing was even given. It was absolutely sickening.

Yep. Up until this point they didn't care about the cost, or else they would have told that to plead guilty and save the cost of a trial. NOW the cost matters.

If the people who oppose the DP would stop fighting it at every turn the cost of it would go way down. The cost, though, is not the real issue from what I see, they just SAY it is.

The only reason there is so much cost to put a person to death is because of the system that put it in place .........all the appeals are very costly, but in cases like this, who cares. If the jury looks at it like what if this was my son or daughter, we may get justice.

You know, the character witnesses at Cobbins trial came off as every bit the liar that Ethyl Freeman did in this trial. I don't think this jury will buy their BS.
