Officials in Tullahoma are pleading for information from the public in the disappearance of a 33-year-old man.

“People don’t just disappear. Someone knows something,” the North Franklin County Volunteer Fire Department posted Monday to its Facebook page. “Someone knows his whereabouts. Clean your conscious.”

David Steele, 33, was last seen Oct. 3 in Tullahoma.

His family is looking for him. He has children who are needing to know also,” the department added.

Steele is a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 170 lbs.

Although investigators declined to definitively identify the body, pending the autopsy results, it is believed to be David Edward Steele, 33, who was reported missing and had not been seen since Oct. 3.

The body was found about 75 yards off the road in a wooded area near the intersection of UTSI Road and Spring Creek Road.

A missing person search quickly turned into a homicide investigation in Franklin County.

Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.

Bryan Dudley is the last defendant to be convicted for the murder of David Steele. Sentencing will be September 25th.

The office of District Attorney General Courtney Lynch for the 12th Judicial District said Bryan Ray Dudley was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping on Friday, Aug. 16. Dudley was on trial for the murder of David Steele from 2017.
