Another group of officers have set up another site at Overton Park, not far from her residence, MailOnline reported.

Richie has reportedly "lawyered up" according to reporter Melanie Moon.

Hutchison School, an all-girls private institution, asked for prayers regarding the horror situation on Facebook.

Hart Robinson is a friend of Fletcher’s, and when he heard the news this morning, he immediately went to the location of Central Avenue and Zach Curlin St, where she was last seen.”

“[Eight] years in the making with this smoking hot babe,” he wrote. “Wouldn’t want it any other way. Even if the stomach bug is running through our family!”

This hurts my heart. I just moved from Memphis last month after having lived there since 1975. The neighborhood where I lived for 17 of those years is within the map posted on here of Eliza's route. Am hoping answers are forthcoming soon and that, against the odds, she's found safe.

Sorry that this was probably covered, but was she actually caught on camera being forced into a vehicle, was that a witness statement, or do we not know? It’s not clear in the articles I’m seeing.

(I see that there’s a screenshot of her from behind running in the same outfit but I’m not assuming that’s when the actual event happened.)

From the short press briefing yesterday.

Reporter - Just to reflect on, you know - What triggered this massive presence from law enforcement that we're seeing out here right now?

LE - Well, originally it started out as a missing person and after we actually found information and saw a video where somebody was abducted, then that's going to raise the alarm.

Thank you

I think he's wise to lawyer up. It only becomes an issue for me if LE says he's being uncooperative.

The Fletcher case highlights the rise of kidnappings in Shelby County as a whole.

According to the TBI’s Crime Insight website, there were 735 kidnappings reported in Shelby County in 2021, with 684 being reported in Memphis alone.

Some students at the University of Memphis are shocked at this happening so close to the campus.

“After hearing about this morning’s kidnapping, I am very concerned about my safety,” said Emily Carter, a sophomore majoring in pre-nursing. “Memphis always seemed to me to be a very safe campus, especially at night and in the early hours of the morning. Discovering that the kidnapping occurred on campus by Carpenter Complex in the early morning really worried me, especially given how many campus police officers I typically see on campus.”

When asked about whether or not they were concerned about their safety after the kidnapping, Carter said, “I am definitely concerned about my safety after today’s incident. I worry about the security on campus, especially.”

Two blocks away from Fletcher’s house, the Second Presbyterian Church held a prayer vigil for Fletcher, who is also a member of the church.

Apparently it was common for her to run this early in the AM. Was it mentioned anywhere that she carried some sort of protective/ self defense device ? I would think most women who run, especially in the dark, would. If she did, would she have time to use it as she is grabbed ? I am mostly wondering because I think being grabbed , one would be mostly shocked, not ready to grab the pepper spray/ whatever it is. Could that have also been dropped someplace ?
I don’t think most female runners carry spray or mace. There’s obviously a risk to running alone, you know it, but the chances are so slim………most likely the abduction/rape happens so quickly that you won’t have time to get it out.

Police entered the home with a riot shield? Whaaaat was that about? Did someone "fall off the wagon"?

How does LE know she was coerced into a dark, mid-sized SUV? Do they have video of this? If so, they should release it now.

Could be because there was a dog in there that they removed who was reported to be highly protective of his home. MOO

Outside Fletcher’s house at the intersection of Carr Avenue and South Willett Street, family and friends of the victim gathered for an impromptu vigil.

Surrounding them were officers from the MPD and agents from the TBI. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives (ATF) were also on the scene.
This is the SUV cops say abducted Fletcher. A frantic hunt for the pre-kindergarten teacher continues

LE must have had clear evidence from the start that pointed to the home.

Maybe the suspect or one of them had been there recently. I wonder why they would take the dog. The only thing I can think of would be to collect hairs to see if they're found in the vehicle.
