ooh good points. Why would she leave the baby with someone who she worried about would run off with her at all? Why would they run off?? This makes no sense to me. My feeling is that something and AB is trying to help cover but that is backfiring on her...
BBM. I think that is exactly why the grandfather contacted authorities and I understand why there has been so little information.

i wonder if they are just " hold charging " them to keep the locked up right now

would be the smart thing to do, police do this quite often to keep people from fleeing or just keeping them close to them for a period of time

no idea what the rules are in this part of the country but i suspect they'd have to be given the opportunity to front a judge and bond out eventually

Megan was purchasing the vehicle for her mother...

Wow. So the $2,500 theft charge was related to the car and MB was involved in the “sale” of the BMW.

Wonder what the original crimes were.

They were arrested in NC, so even if the vehicle did not factor in, she violated probation simply by crossing state lines, if my understanding is correct. I know this does not answer your question regarding the original offense, but it is something she could easily serve time for, even if the vehicle debacle is sorted and found to be irrelevant.

I can’t think of a case that a kid was gone and unreported for so long, but found still alive. Maybe someone remembers one? But I agree with you, sadly.

IMO when a child goes missing and isn’t reported it is simply to buy time and hope she isn’t found... or that the remains are such that a COD can’t be determined.

I do remember an older child, Kirsten White I think her name was. Mom gave weird stories about what had happened to her and there was a delay in reporting her missing. She turned up a month or so later alive, but I don't remember more than that.

IMO, this BMW debacle was simply a method employed to bring them in. I doubt these charges will stick, but AB is in serious trouble because she was found out of state on while on probation. The only loophole is if she got permission from her probation officer to leave the state, but that surely would only be for a set duration (1-2 weeks - NOT 2 months).

Just saw this from yesterday and updated today -- please forgive if it's already been posted --

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. -- The car and people authorities were looking for in connection with the disappearance of a 15-month-old Tennessee girl have been found in Wilkes County, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
"The gray BMW has been located in Wilkes County, NC, along with the individuals authorities were hoping to speak with," TBI tweeted on Friday night.
TBI said the investigation is ongoing and Evelyn Boswell, of Sullivan County, Tennesse, is still missing.

William McCloud and Angela Boswell

The 2007 BMW had been reported stolen. William McCloud and Angela Boswell were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.
Evelyn has not been seen by family members in more than two months.
According to an Amber Alert, Boswell was last seen on Dec. 26, the day after Christmas.
Megan Boswell, the mother of Evelyn, told WCYB she knows who has her daughter and was afraid to speak out.

If the car is HW’s, or his family member’s, there was probably a very informal agreement related to selling it. I think this was a method deployed by LE to bring them in.

yep pretty sure its just to hold them right now, they needed a way to bring a charge to hold them for a period of time

there are several charges related to motor vehicle being stolen by deception they could have used to charge for much higher charges and they didn't

i mean $2,500 for a 2007 bmw? i don't think so pretty pissy charge all MOO JMO

ALL MOO: If the car is HW’s, or his family member’s, there was probably a very informal agreement related to selling it. I think this was a method deployed by LE to bring them in.

I think there was "an informal agreement" too, like "sell ya my car cheap for some drugs". Or perhaps a drug " rental ". Trust me, it happens all the time.

But that's just MO.

Does taking a stolen car across state lines up the charges or allow more aggressive charges? My guess is they knew the car had been taken out of state and they got the owner to declare it stolen because the paperwork hadn’t been completed or payment hadn’t been given. Unless the car was reported stolen weeks ago and the police only took it seriously when a baby was gone?

So...from reading that article, the owner of the vehicle stated that he couldn't get a hold of either Maggie or Angela to collect payment ? So why the hell isn't Maggie also being charge with car theft, hmmm ?

Nope...not buying this load of crap. AT ALL. Someone is lying through their teeth.

MB should be beside herself with grief and should be bawling her eyes out that she can't find her daughter for 2 months.

Not the "I'm kinda worried about her" bs.

She has to know exactly where she is imo.

Jmo
I doubt MB knows exactly where to find the child. If the baby was with AB and WM when they were apprehended, the Amber Alert would have been cancelled.

ALL MOO: I used to manage several addiction treatment centers, so while I am familiar with common offenses that can constitute a violation of probation or parole, I am no expert on automobile theft and the intricacies of the law associated with it. I think you are spot-on with the fact that the charges were served up as a way to extradite them back to TN for questioning related to EB’s case. It is doubtful that these charges will stick, other than AB’s potential probation violation for crossing state lines.
