According to Clint’s story, Holly was abducted by a man that he initially believed was Drew (but it was not Drew) dressed in camo.

This camo man may have startled Holly near her car outside, which caused her to scream, or possibly hurt her in some way which made her bleed (which resulted in a small puddle in the garage) and caused her to scream out. Now, Clint did not hear her scream, but the neighbor’s son did (as he was leaving for work, I think, and he then went to his mother and relayed the scream info or maybe he called her I’m not sure.).

According to Clint he was awoken by the inside dog barking. Apparently, he became aware of “stranger” voices outside (and one of them sounded younger). He looked through a window into the garage and saw two silhouettes kneeling. (From what vantage point in the house he saw this, I don’t know.) He then decided to call his mother to find out who these people are. (Which is strange because I thought Clint had stated he believed it was Holly and Drew kneeling over a turkey kill, so why the need to call his mom?) I believe he had to leave a message for his mother. His mother returned his call. They began to discuss what Clint was viewing through the window. KB states Holly should be at school. I would assume Clint at this time relays to his mother that Holly’s car is still outside (?). Clint tells his mother he sees Holly walking with Drew toward the woods. Now, this is where I get a little confused – when did Clint decide these voices were no longer strangers in the garage? Ya see, Clint calls his mother initially to find out who is in the garage? Right. But when KB returns Clint’s call, Clint tells KB who he sees outside – Holly and Drew. Then KB tells Clint, “No, that’s not Drew!” (So, why did Clint call his mom?)

Another piece of info that has been left out of the narrative is Clint’s vehicle. If he in fact has his own car, was it parked outside of the house where an intruder could identify that someone else was home? Does this mystery camo man care if anyone else is home?

According to Clint, Holly and the camo man walked into the woods together. Clint has stated Holly was not led or forced. So why did KB react like Holly was already mortally injured? According to witnesses at her place of work (school), KB was screaming out and clearly upset. Why? If Holly was only walking into the woods with some guy, I mean, where’s the fire? Yes, she should be at school taking an exam, but she’s not dead. KB tells Clint to get a gun and go after them. WHY? What makes KB believe that lethal force is necessary? KB was previously informed by the neighbor’s phone call that a scream was heard from the home. But according to Clint, everything is fine. So who called KB first: The neighbor or Clint? And if the neighbor spoke to KB before Clint did, did KB inform Clint that the neighbor heard a scream coming from the home? If so, what was Clint’s reaction to this info?

So Clint grabs a gun, goes through the garage and this is when he sees a puddle of blood in the garage. He then goes outside to follow Holly and the camo man, but oh snap, the neighbor drives up and diverts Clint’s attention away from the situation at hand. The neighbor relays the info about a scream heard from the Bobo residence, so Clint then decides this would be a good time to attempt to call 911, in front of the neighbor, no less. Oh, no need, he hears the police coming up the road…

A thousand likes to you, dear!

Where do you end up if you leave home and make a series of left turns? Right back at the beginning.

As I'm sure LE and the TBI have looked into every possible scenario, I believe there are reasons for the tight lips.

Realistically, an abduction would cause a packed lunch box to be found on the ground at the scene of the crime. A ploy would be a packed lunch box discovered far away from the scene. How do we know the "flurry" of calls included Holly at all? Name me one person who is not closely involved who dates the last time they actually spoke with Holly. Texts do not count, as someone could simply use Holly's phone. What about Holly's voice? Is it very distinguishable from others? I know many people say I sound just like my mom and my aunt on the phone. Until I tell them otherwise, people assume I am my mother if I answer at her home. Could someone use her phone and pretend to be her? If Holly's phone has not been located, why has there been no mention of cell phone pings and their locations by LE? Go look up every other MP case right now and it will state whether or not the MP had/had not their phone and whether it has/has not been useful in determining some sort of ping location. Why not this info with Holly? Why the tight lips?

I believe LE has this info, and it's has them taking a series of the same left turns and ending up right back at the beginning. Hence therefor, it's a "local" and no massive nationwide search for Holly. That "one crucial piece of evidence/information" to solve the case has just been a little trickier than they thought to get a hold of.

MOO, IMO, JMHO, and all that jazz

I am not one that believes that silence is an indicator of great knowledge or a grasp on the situation or that it means LE is hard at work. To me its more akin to "crickets" and ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

lol... I agree it could be that, too. I'm trying to remain hopeful, though.... For Holly's sake. I am more likely to believe that LE has done the cell ping work on HB's case, and there is a reason it has not been released to the public. I guess, because.... Well, If that hasn't been done, then there's not much hope at all. :(

Sorry for the random capital letters. My phone is psycho like that!

So much is frustrating or strange about this case- the time line, CB's and neighbor's actions, etc. But in defense of CB- I know quite a few people (including DH) who are unobservant, slow-to-action type people so his actions are not as strange to me as they are to other people. I can actually see some of these people I know behaving almost exactly like CB.

I cannot disagree with this sentiment but this case is much more complicated than it appears on the surface. The misinformation is everywhere in this case, every instance we are aware of has an alternate version and/or a story with gigantic holes in it. Let's work from the premise that local and state LE (50k reward from the governor shows political interest), along with other alphabet agencies, spent alot of time, money and resources on this case and then just take a look at the mish-mosh the TBI has released over time. We have been told by LE that the abductor is a community member, was familiar with HB schedule, did not take HB out of west TN, may have tried to clean or sell their vehicle (or atv), the investigation has never left the community and the focus is still on the community, there are no planned searches, they are one clue away, all people closely associated with HB have had their alibis checked, people in the community have info they are not sharing, all local SO had been checked out (not so sure about this one at all), nobody has been cleared, CB and the boyfriend (who was out hunting that morning) are not suspects, everybody in the community that was hunting that morning is a possible suspect, a man in Ohio has been interfering with the investigation from his home in Ohio, this is not a cold case, tips still keep coming in and investigators are assigned to them, and can we add any more?
It's the same pattern as CB stories, there could be a very simple and direct version, but instead we are given little tidbits of info with no preface or backdrop, no logical flow or order to the info. It's just thrown into the air and lands wherever it lands. IMO, If one was to try and read between the lines, the abductor is a local that is acquainted with HB (someone who is familiar with her daily routine) and somebody who people are suspicious of in general (people have info they are not sharing.)
My point is that the LE on this case do know something, or they are telling flat out lies that already have or will destroy the case. By pointing the finger at the community, it has opened the door for people to cast suspicions upon others and circulate rumors that had a personal motive, none of which had to do with HB (the man from Ohio interfering with the case is just an example, but he took every rumor given to him and ran with it. Should be interesting if we ever hear who in that local community he had been communicating with). That's a dangerous game and I have a hard time believing any LE would allow it if they didn't feel it was in their best interest.
IMO knowing critical information and knowing what to do with it are often mutually exclusive. I would say the better bet/guess would be the crickets and zzz are probably from not knowing what to do next, as oppose to not knowing anything.

Are local LE trying to keep other LE away, by insisting it is a "local crime"? Is this a way to keep outside help away...some LEA's are very territorial. JMO

I don't think so as the TBI and FBI are also involved as well as local agencies

So I wonder, then, if they have used a profiler and that is why they are so convinced it has to be a local. I know, the woods, etc....but a stalker could easily have planned an escape route for himself and made himself at least loosely familiar with the schedule of the home and just watched until he saw Holly alone. And maybe did not know about Clint. I don't believe this HAS to be a local, as in someone from the community. If so, it seems they should have been able to narrow it down and find him by now. That was said on the very first day by the family, and later echoed by law enforcement. I don't think a so called expert thought of that

I know that...just wonder if they got confirmation/agreement from "experts" as they have to stuck to it so heartily, considering they don't seem to have any suspects as far as we know.

If you think about it, I bet 99% of crimes are local. Crimes of opportunity certainly are. I would think abducting someone you had a fixation for would also be local. I can't see someone from South Dakota randomly driving to Darden TN, finding Holly's house, finding her, and randomly abducting her.

People covet what they see on a daily basis... someone local saw Holly and wanted her (assuming that an assault or abduction was the intended crime and that her abduction was not an afterthought).

Interesting and troubling at the same time. If TBI say he isn't a suspect, why waste the time to travel to OH? Why take his daughter's birth certificate? Was the TBI just trying to make a point?

So upthread it was mentioned that paragliders or ultralights (ultralights would make a lot more sense IMO) were being used to presumably snoop on land that the owners wouldn't give access to.

I would be interested to hear why they could not get a warrant to search. If they think a body is in there or a crime committed on the land, isn't that probably cause? IDK, but I would be interested to hear if someone else knows the legal aspect. I am just really surprised that the owners won't give access. Who owns that land?

I know some other poster (to lazy to look right now) put forth the scenario that they were trying to protect the murderer by not giving access. You would would think that there would be mountains of scrutiny/talking in town about this owner.

Easy - and this goes back to early on in the investigation... some local residents refused to let cops and volunteers trample over their private property. Its not that LE has any direct info that anything happened in a specific location AFAIK, its that just some large tracts of private land can not be searched on foot. You can't get a warrant just to look around with no probable cause.

Okay, thanks. For some reason I thought that LE had a strong belief that something was on these properties.

I've always heard that eye witness accounts are the most unreliable evidence. In a college class we had a live demo followed by discussion. Unexpectedly a person ran into the classroom (approx 30 students), snatched teacher's purse and ran out. Class was asked to describe details (clothes, shoes, sex, height, weight, glasses, gloves or not, etc. and asked "how sure". More were wrong about details than were right.
If the brother naturally thought it was the boyfriend, that was in his mind at first look. Just my thoughts on eye witness descriptions.

Exactly. It's pretty hard to judge a person's height and weight even if you're standing close to them, and at a distance it's even harder.
You could take two men who are exactly the same weight and height and stand them next to each other, and have several people guess their size. If they don't have the same degree of muscle mass or bone size and density, they are not going to look the same. Their weight may be distributed differently on their bodies.
