Since he stayed local after they went missing and was even questioned. I am guessing his plan was to make it look like mom ran away with her kids and left her husband. Sounds like he killer mom and daughter and had his WIFE drive them out of town, while he stayed. Did she also take the girls with her? Did he meet up with them later? He buried them on his property thinking he would notbe a suspect obviously he is not very smart. After being questioned by LE (LE states he gave them false info leading them in a different direction) he then fled.

I hope he took the girls for love and not sex and I PRAY that he does not panic and kill them too.
mo

Yeah, burying them in a shallow grave in his backyard would make me think he was either panicked or not very bright or both.

Exactly. I was just thinking the exact same thing!!!!! Wth????

In the father's defense, unless the backpacks were sitting on the kitchen table, I don't fault him for not noticing. Who wakes up in the morning and thinks "I should make sure the kids brought everything with them and weren't kidnapped/murdered by my friend of 10+ years." And even if they we sitting on the table, they were packing to move, I'm guessing the house was in a bit of chaos. Heck, they had 4 kids and 3 adults living there, that alone would cause a bit of chaos.

And that was the house where GB and JB lived with the girls, right?

Yes. The detached workshop/garage is a little ways away from the house. There's a link to a picture of it on page 1 of this thread.

Help you all--with my memory--Is Whiteville where the Bain's lived? If so they were killed in their garage? As hubby slept? TM drove the bodies to MS? Where does Guntown come from? Oh my I am so confused..I live in TN and never heard of these places..Does anyone know if TN has the DP?
Yes,
It appears so.
Yes.
The trailer where AM lived is officially in Guntown
Yes.

Yes. I guess AM's niece and GB were in the house. I keep wondering if AM shot JB and AB....but that just would have been too loud. This guy is dispicable.

Hoping that FBI and Company have passed on AM and the girls pictures to the Boarder Crossings in Texas and California.!

MOO... This was a well thought out plan and he always intended to kill JoAnne and Adrienne....He had to act and act before they left...His mother and ex-wife were needed to put the plan into action...hence his not waiting until the family was back in AZ.

WTF ..the guy was last seen 4/30/12...He has had 10 DAYS to travel. He could have crossed over into Mexico Days ago and he has had time to drive well into Central America...There are countless of countries he could already set up housekeeping in
He could have dyed the girls hair black and gotten passports from his "Biker Dude Friends."

Brittany Smith's abductor (& killer of her Mother) was able to drive from North Carolina to California in 3 Days!!

MOO...AM is one sick guy and he was not going to let Anyone or Any Things stand in the way of he desire to be a father to Alexandria and Kyliyah. His so called "Sister/Daughters" were all he Had to live for...He had NO LIFE of his own outside the Bains Family...His Mother and ex-wife meant nothing for him except a means to carry out his SICK PLAN.....

Still wondering where his Father is??? Could he be traveling with him??? This would help him keep control of the girls!

Praying that Alexandra and Kyliyah are being treated well and that they do NOT know anything about the deaths of their mother and sister...Hoping that they are just thinking that they are just on "A Great Adventure With Uncle Adam"

Dear God...Please Bring Alexandria and Kyliyah Home and Bless the Souls of JoAnn and Adrienne

But if the story goes that AM was there the night before for the move the next day, then why was GB and the older daughter still in bed?????????

Good point, the house was probably a bit disorganized with moving...
so I am assuming the kids never showed up for school?
Why did GB not get a call from the school? Most schools call the parents if they do not show up to school?

From CNN comment:

"Teresa Mayes admitted to watching Adam Mayes kill both Jo Ann and her daughter in the family's garage that night and then drive the bodies and the two little girls to MS. The plan all along was to kidnap the little girls and kill Jo Ann and Adrienne"

My theory, Adam was having a sexual relationship with one or both of the two youngest daughters and did not want to lose this upon the family move to Arizona.

Above bolded by me. does this mean the kidnapping began that night after GB went to bed at 1am, the last reported time he saw Joann?

This almost too terrible to consider. Imagine you are 14yo Adrienne and your mom has just been killed by a man you have known and trusted your whole life, and now he is coming for you. If a gun wasn't used because it was too noisy, the other options for how he may have killed them make it all too gruesome and slow instead of quick and unexpected. Poor JB and Adrienne! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THEM TO CATCH THIS $%&*#@! He seems to have no soul!

If he just kidnapped the younger ones, then he would have become a suspect. Whereas all 4 go missing and police think mother left her husband and run away.
Which apparently did work for a little while, as police might have originally believed mother left voluntarily.

I think this is a good point....but wonder if AM is that smart. Although if AM, MM and TM were conspiring, which the affidavit says they were, then maybe they thought of this.

Maybe they were up late packing. Maybe the tot kept them awake into the wee hours. Depending on when school starts, they could have been on the bus wicked early. I used to leave for high school before 7am.

(My New England is showing, I said "wicked early" :blushing:)

ETA: The first bell seems to be at 7:25am. So, they'd probably leave for the bus before 7am. That's not an obscene time to sleep to, in my opinion.

How did they keep everyone quite enough to not wake dad?

I am so horrified I have no words. :(

This reminds me of a combination of the Summer Inman case and the Joseph Duncan case.

Can't describe this as anything but horrifying!

I think the reason he chose the garage was so Teresa could back up her car into it and putting the bodies in the trunk would be easier. He also chose to do this late at night for the same reason. He then took the keys to the Durango, got the kids up, loaded them in the Durango and met up with Teresa a couple of miles away to dump the car.

How did they keep everyone quite enough to not wake dad?

My question also Teh.........and why the hello did AM need a trailer? There were apparently two vehicles involved.........Cops have been back to the home in Whiteville.....did they close that garage area off as a crime scene? So many questions........Please let these local LE know what they are doing.

They probably woke them up one at a time with a gun to their head.
