From Nick Beres NC5

"Apparently, the highly-trained K-9 units have not picked up any scent of the child.
This is unusual considering they were out on the scene quickly the first day ... and there has been no rain to wash away the scent. So now I'm told investigators will begin again questioning the parents and everyone else who had contact with Jorden. At some point, it's possible some will be asked to take lie detector tests."

This boy lives there.
How can there be no scent of him for the dogs to hit on, when he LIVES there?
Maybe one of our K9/SAR folks can chime in on this?
That's really weird. Also, I find it odd that the parents haven't made a public appeal for Jorden to come home. In runaway cases, that would be the best move to make, in case the child is able to hear/see them.

Sheriff Mike Breedlove also said they have received numerous requests from local volunteers wanting to help with the search. However, he said they are not yet at a point where they can allow a lot of people out there. He said they are still relying on experts now, but later this afternoon, they should have more information on when they can bring in volunteers.

Breedlove said at some point, they will need to get consent from homeowners to search their property.
Jorden Gorman: Cheatham County residents asked to search their property

This article has been updated. My main takeaway is that LE isn’t totally convinced that this is a runaway child, although personally, I think that is still the most probable scenario.

Jordan Gorman Amber Alert: Joelton search continues, TBI investigates

SABBMFAA:

“He’s just a 9-year-old little boy who just liked to play,” Breedlove said, adding that investigators are examining all the cell phones belonging to Jordan’s family members, “just to check and see what communications were going on.”

The spokesman said investigators had every reason to believe the boy was still in the area and no reason to believe he’s not. He and local officials are asking Tennesseans to look at Jordan’s photo, remember his face and keep a lookout.

“We’ve got to look at every single possibility … We have to start piecing together the timeline, the circumstances, the relationships, that led us to this point. That’s very much a focus of what we’re doing as well,” DeVine said.

I agree with both you and LE.

Runaway is the most probable scenario.

It is not, however, the only possible one.

LE's statements here make it abundantly clear that they think there's more to the (back)story than they've been told.

This is now the second time that LE has referenced the need to determine "what led us to this point."

Also, if that's an accurate quote, it's interesting to note the mixed-tense usage by LE when talking about JAG, i.e., "He's just a 9-year-old little boy who just liked to play."

If that's a verbatim quote, I think the mixed-tense there could be a reflection of LE's uncertainty about JAG's fate right now.

It doesn't seem odd to me that they haven't made a public appeal, since the story is he ran off into the woods. He's not going to see any kind of televised/internet appeal, from the woods. Especially since LE has also stated he does not have any kind of device with him.

Now if the story was, he was taken by someone... then the appeal would make sense.

Marking this post to dive a little deeper into the rain aspect, as related to K9s. As I mentioned previously, as I understand it, a light rain can be favorable.

Yes ma’am as I stated in the post you replied to, I always went barefoot and walked/ran around wooded areas, over gravel, etc. If you are not one whom has done I wouldn’t expect you to understand this, but if you go barefoot regularly your soles become tougher and you become more and more able to bear walking over terrain what would make more tender-footed folks cry. I’m not arguing my point anymore, but please believe that my experience as a wild-and-free, hippie-type child is true and not restricted to only myself nor my generation.

I agree with you, @natesma , I go barefoot all of the time, and have walked over gravel and hot sand.

Prayers JAG is found soon.

From the MSM we know the family began to foster & adopt after their bio son's death in 2011.
While we do not know how long Jorden and his 2 sisters have been part of the Gorman family, it's possible they have been with them for many years.
Jorden is 9 now, and it's been 9 years since the loss of their bio son.
I'm not inclined to suspect bio parents/family or anything like maybe he was running away to bio family, until we know how long Jorden has actually been part of the Gorman family.
