Body found in Holston River in Hawkins County

Emergency crews say a body was found in the Holston river near Church Hill.


Hawkins County emergency crews confirm a body has been found in the Holston River at Christian's bend.

Matt Cameron with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said the body appears to have been in the water for quite some time.

TWRA says the victim was found without a lifejacket on.

Hawkins County Rescue Squad, the TWRA, and Hawkins County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident.

The report says he was only wearing bib overalls and no shirt or shoes.

Kingsport police are trying to find a man who has not been seen since April.

Did he have a cell phone? If so, were they able to track his phone and find out who he last talked to?

Did he have any special places he liked to hang out?

Did he have a job? If so, did he work that day?

Did he take any of his personal belongings, such as extra clothes, back pack? I am assuming he has his keys and wallet with him?

Does he have a bank account? If so, any activity on it since he went missing?

Thank you for your questions and for your support, Josh's phone didn't show any real leads, there has been no activity, he always carried extra clothes and a back pack, he did have his wallet with him, we have checked and still check his hangouts, as well as other places, he wasn't working at the time. back account was closed due to no deposits. We get possible leads and pictures, sadly they haven't turned up to be Josh.

You have great instincts. The coroner just confirmed the body in Scott county is Josh. Update posted by his family just now:

"Thank you all so much for your continued support and concern, Josh's family has gotten so much love and positivity from this group and that has been invaluable. However, the coroner has confirmed that the person found in Weber City was, in fact Josh. No additional information is available at this time. We will post arrangements at a later date.

Please remember us in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Thank you for loving Josh and for extending that love to our family over the last few months. If love could have kept him here, he would have lived forever."

So tragic. I hope Joshua's family gets some answers on what happened.
