The problem is that he has isolated her. Her phone is off, not charged, or has been discarded. He drives, she does not. If they are somewhere remote-ish, she will not be able to get away, nor call for help.

Good point! He's isolated her and she only knows what he allows her to. She was bullied and harassed at school about the kiss, I'm sure he played on that. She may not even try to leave because he can tell her she's his only friend, he controls the narrative and she's unfortunately young enough to not understand.

We went to his classroom a whole bunch because that’s where the other kids went and my sister, and she is my best friend, so I went with her,” Sarah Thomas said.

Sarah Thomas said she heard Cummins tell stories with other students about being in the FBI, CIA and Secret Service.

“He was a weirdo,” she said.

It wasn’t until allegations of Cummins and her sister kissing at school that Sarah Thomas said other students made fun of her.

“She would say, ‘I got to get out of here. We got to leave. We got to get out of here,’” said Sarah Thomas about her sister.

Sarah Thomas told Channel 4 she tried to stop other students from bullying her sister, but it wasn’t enough.

“She would always say for me to make them stop, and I tried. I’d bring them to the office and they didn’t do anything. I can only do so much,” she said.

After the Amber Alert was issued, Sarah Thomas said she is now struggling at school without her sister.

“Sometimes I’ll hear a comment here and there about, ‘Oh, I bet he’s raping her or hurting her.’ I don’t want to think about that. She is my little sister,” Sarah Thomas said.


That's just terrible her little sister is still being bullied. I would have thought the school would be monitoring what was happening closely.

Not only does NJ allow for licensure through alternative methods to those who don't hold bachelor's degrees (called the Provisional Teacher Process), they also have method for licensing that don't require legal citizenship, which means you may have someone in the classroom that hasn't been fully checked by the FBI. If an american citizen applies for a teaching job they must have a full background check, including a criminal check through the FBI as well as the local law offices and any other places the applicant has lived within the prior 5 years. The state of NJ waives this background requirement for those who are not US Citizens. Just an FYI and a real surprise to me as well!

Wow. I did NOT know that. But the principle holds true, every industry has its own specific regulations. And that means some unexpected things may be legal. I hope we can use similar information gathering to help locate places they may be. I'm concerned for this girl more and more as time passes...

Seems TC has quite a few people trying to defend him. Wish they would support ET instead. She needs to know she's safe and people want her home IMO

I think what people are forgetting is this is a SMALL RURAL town... in TENNESSEE. Lots of differences there than other areas....

Yep in smaller areas here you take what you can get. Its not uncommon for teacher's adult kids to substitute if needed. The rules are lax in rural areas.

This makes me so mad!! Those remarks to the sister are completely, utterly out of line.

I thought this too. What if they had a second vehicle (I had mentioned his other car, a Jeep) loaded with stuff waiting for them at a parking garage or other location? They could possibly drop one car off in an obscure place and pick another up.

The one thing I feel like people can't avoid, no matter how calculated their planning, is possibly being picked up by a camera at a store, house, trail, or even on someone's phone.

Is there a storage unit or parking garage somewhere between their town and Decatur where they are on camera switching vehicle?

The storage unit thing is interesting. Having another car would make sense. That would explain the extra time needed to travel to Decatur. They could be headed for Savannah, it's a beachy place and with secluded areas.

Lots of storage units all over TN. Are you talking about the kind you rent per month and store furniture etc? Some have gates and codes to get in but a lot don't. A few are indoors also.

I'm speechless the school is allowing this after everything that has happened. On FB in the comments from the article a lot of parents are talking about their kids being bullied also and no action being taken.

I read her Father is capped at 300,000 if he does decide to pursue a lawsuit. His lawyer has stated they are trying to change that law in the future

It might also be helpful if we could share different hair styles as well as colors. Once when I was at a multi-day conference, I spoke with a vendor for over an hour on a day when I had my hair down. The next day when I went to say hello again, he re-introduced himself as if we had never met...he said later my hair being in a ponytail threw him off.

So if anyone finds pics of long and short cuts, braids, ponytails, curly, straightened etc., it'd be great to combine those with the hair color collection.

It also wouldn't hurt to have some without glasses and some with.

I agree, but also believe, she has already done a lot with her hair (even for age 15). So I am willing to bet she cuts it all off, or makes it really really short.

I'm uncomfortable with trying to place full blame on the choices of the school's administration.
No one could have guessed this teacher, who was married to another school employee, would run off with the girl. People closer to ET may have gleaned a clue if they read her social media.
Most school admin people would not spend time with students outside the classroom.

Two days ago they released the fact that he had run searches on his computer for information regarding teen aged marriage consent and whether or not his SUV could be tracked. I wondered out loud at the time, and even posted in here, why that information would've been released like it was. Only the LE computer tech's would have that knowledge available. Nothing else that was found on his computer has been released.

I still haven't heard a logical explanation for why that information, and only that information, was distributed to the media.

I'm behind chiming in on this. Maybe to flush them out or to give them confidence that they aren't being tracked, when they actually have an idea of location?

So agree. An entire country is worried about her. And those who are defending TC are still in shock. Once it wears off, they'll remember who is in danger. Can't stress enough, if TC really cared about her, not himself and his baser instincts, he'd take her to a bus stop and put an end to this. Let her go home to those who love her and not waste a single moment more of her life so she can begin to get her life back. She deserves a life, just like he had at that age and he can't recapture that youth by destroying hers.

They could have handled this situation a whole lot better IMO after they were alerted. They even lied on the 1 st timeline they released. I understand he deceived them all but after they knew they still didn't take it seriously.
