Circumstances of Discovery
Two rabbit hunters discovered the body in a rural area near the side of a dirt road known as Peach Orchard Road; it had been burned beyond recognition after being doused with an accelerant, with authorities quickly determining that the cause of death was homicide. Authorities also determined that the man had previously sustained gunshot wounds to the wrist and chest, however these were unrelated to his death.
Subsequent local inquiries into missing persons throughout Tennessee have failed to turn up any matches. Despite extensive news coverage through the state, the man has not been identified.
