Nadine Rogers, Disappeared either the night of Feb 1, or Feb 2, 2002 depending on which article you read.
She is African American .
The facts as I know them from articles.
Nadine cashed her rather large income tax check and her live in boyfriend, wanted her money. Which she declined to give.
Robert Wayne Marler, 26 at the time, is and is still considered the Person of Interest.
He is currently serving time in prison for Reckless Homicide and agg. robbery. Convicted in 2002.
The day she disappeared, Marler took an unexpected trip to Mobile, Alabama with her car.
Returned to his mothers house a week later, where LE was waiting on him on the other charges.
Marler, said Nadine left with "other" men friends to North Carolina.
She left her tax money at home, which was found later by LE.
Detective Alan Kidd ( Now Retired, Hawkins Sheriff Office )
She leaves behind 3 children, who their grandmother raised before she died and at least 1 brother that I have read.

Anyone with information on Nadine Rogers whereabouts is asked to contact the HCSO at (423) 272-4848.
There is a link where Gov. Sundquist had offered an award, but it seems the article is no longer available.

We feel like we know who did it, but weve just never been able to develop enough to charge. Ive had (investigators) from Alabama to Tennessee to help, and nothing has turned up at all. I charged him with stealing the car, but I couldnt get any farther in court because there isnt anybody to say she didnt give it to him.
Det. Kidd said. When he left he was driving her burgundy colored four-door Oldsmobile sedan. It was very disheartening, because everywhere we went we ran into walls, but we kept trying to knock a hole in them to get through, to find something. It still bothers me today that we werent able to get closure.
