This is a dated photo. The girls are believed to be traveling in a 2010 black Chevy Cobalt with Tennessee registration 5M50X7. Call the Cookeville Police Department at 1-931-526-2125, or 1-800-TBI-FIND.

The Cookeville Tennessee Police Department has slightly different information in their post and some additional information. Bold is by me. This is a situation where the parents took off with the kids because the kids were going to be removed from them.

Cookeville Police Department

Spot them? Call the Cookeville Police Department at 931-526-2126 or 1-800-TBI-FIND!

Not sure exactly what is going on but Mom (Haylee Smith) was arrested on May 9th in Cookeville, her address was listed as "homeless out of Crossville" and her bail was $12,500 on a theft charge. She must have bailed out. Her husband and father of the kids (Nicholas Smith) has a VineLink entry from Putnam County (where Cookeville is) that shows he was arrested and released on his own recognizance on June 7th - the day the kids went missing.

So it isn't clear if the court order to take possession of the children and place them in protective custody came before or after these most recent arrests.

I am so glad these children are safe. That is the best news that there can ever be.

I am wondering though if they thought they were endangered was it truly five days before an alert was put out? And, if so, why?
