Valerie Elder Smiley, 41, was last seen on June 28 at 2 p.m., leaving her home in Chattanooga.

On June 29, her phone pinged in Fayetteville. It pinged again in Union City the next day.

if she was abducted or kidnapped, do we really think that the person who abducted her is driving around using her cell phone or carrying it on them in their car?

she has to be aware people are looking for her and if she just wanted to disappear and walk away why did she do it this way?

Last phone ping was on 6/30 in Union city GA. This location is about 2 1/2 hours from her chicken shack!

What i don’t understand is if they were able to track her phone and her location why they weren’t immediately going to those places?

I saw a flyer for Valerie at a local business about 30 minutes from Chattanooga. I hope she is found safe.

I feel for Valerie and her family. If I were to give some advice, I think they should set up an official Find Page on Facebook so that at least we can discuss things on that page and also so that it will be more visible to more people. The more people who talk about Valerie, the better. Including the Websleuths community. I hope she is in treatment somehow, somewhere, as a Jane Doe. It sounds to me like a mental break of some sort. I just hope she did not have a wreck somewhere hidden or in water.

It’s been 3 weeks since MSM has covered Valerie.

I really wish the family would hire a PI. she’s well know in the community and it would be supported. (i thought it odd they have a asked for cash app donations for the the kids but no for a PI)

I would say...and I'm trying not to give specific info I've been given away, because its not my place. But there are more searches than what has been posted on FB. Thank you for all of your insightful questions, though. I hope they find her soon. Her family needs her home.

Valerie has been in my thoughts a lot. If she has not used any bank cards, and her phone stopped pinging, there's not a lot of scenarios that come to mind imoo. She maybe voluntarily left - did she take out a lot of cash leading up to her disappearance? Or maybe someone has disappeared her - has anyone actually seen her leave, and seen her drive the car? Or was that phone pings/license plate only (anyone could have left that trace I guess?) . If she was in a confused state, her leaving makes sense I guess but where has she been all this time without any trace? Then an accident comes to mind (car in water?) all imoo. I just hope she will be found safe and sound very soon, her family must be devastated by worry.
