I think it goes without saying that we cannot take people with a profile like this and just lock them up for eternity.
But for goodness sakes... can I get a watchlist? Something?
The writing was on the wall. I wish there was something to be done for this. He and Worley could have been contained.

When he was at his bio dads, it sounds like he was left alone often. I suspect it was because mom wouldn't take him back and dad didn't know how to deal with him.
Per the juvenile reports, his dad was just out of town with one of his '30' (per TK) girlfriends.
Per mom, now, it was an emergency.
I am expecting a lot of excuses to come from mom, and perhaps bio dad, to gloss over TK's less than ideal childhood.

my take on it is that tk was an unwanted baby and therefore faced a lot of rejection his whole life from his mother, father
and probably the world at large. his emotional needs were most likely ignored by his un-nuturing mother and then he faced his father's abandoning him in arizona and that pushed him over the edge. somewhere in his childhood he was
sexually abused as well. parents can deny and blame others all day long but sadly they raised and made this monster of a son. tk should be the poster boy of lack of adequate parenting 101.

The Todd Kohlhepp case is prolly one of the most horrific and darkest serial predator cases that I've followed on websleuths in the past decade, PositiveLight. There has been many copycat serial killers past. These killers usually pattern their MOs after only one specific killer. There seems to be a new breed of serial predator today. I refer to these hybrids as Emulators; a copycat of many. This may be attributed to the CSI affect combined with the necessity by the predator to evolve their strategy and tactics due to the advancements in investigative technology and other additional resources available to law enforcement.

Imo, TK was clearing and filling in his land because he planned to build a private airstrip enabling him to fly in unsuspecting victims/prey from other areas to his preserve.

I have been researching and backtracking an emulator Gary M Hilton since 2008. GMH, also a private pilot constantly read serial killer novels and at one time worked stocking these novels at book stores. His MO evolved and kept changing causing LE to perceive multiple predators active, preventing his detection for decades. He later assisted in writing a script for a serial killer movie; Deadly Run which went to video in 1994 and was based on the 1930s movie; "The Most Dangerous Game"<hunting humans>.. GMH also tutored the lead actor, cast in the movie, in the art of serial killing. Fast forward to Robert Hansen; Butcher Baker; Alaskan Serial Killer;

The Frozen Ground - Official Trailer (2013) <Brief Nudity/Graphic>

An Alaska State Trooper partners with a young woman who escaped the clutches of serial killer Robert Hansen to bring the murderer to justice. Based on actual events.

I agree with you about there being a new breed.
I LOVE frozen ground btw! Great movie!
I believe the more intelligent SK's are having to evolve and change their patterns often to avoid capture. With the new testing available now they have to be more careful. This also makes it tougher I believe on the LE because they are still in the mindset that SK's never change their MO's. This has to be a profilers nightmare.
I wonder if it might be better to profile the possible victims SK's choose and work at the cases in a different direction. Thinking in the victims eyes instead of the killer's eyes.
Why would TK choose this victim for example. What are things he would gain by choosing this victim?
How would he treat this victim? Comparing the male victims to the females is a good start. Why he chooses what he does to each victim?
For example- Why did he kill the motor cycle victims the way he did? What was feeding his lust for it at that moment?
We are getting to those answers now.
Also same with the couple's he kills.
So what other potential victims would be appealing to him and why? How would he kill them and dispose of them?
GMH sounds interesting. Need to look into him myself!
Thank you for your reply!

"48 HOURS" TO INVESTIGATE THE TWISTED LIFE OF ALLEGED S.C. SERIAL KILLER

When police found KB chained like a d*g inside a shipping container in Woodruff, S.C., they thought they were on the path to solve a missing persons case. What they learned soon after, however, was that they would just be getting started on the trail of a suspected serial killer.

“48 Hours” goes inside the missing persons investigation and the stunning revelations her alleged captor, Todd Kohlhepp, 45, a real estate broker, made to police in “Buried Truth” to be broadcast Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Thank you for the heads up! Setting DVR now!

Reminds me of my boyfriend's mom when I was 17-19. He was severely abusive and 8 years my senior. He was a convicted felon and had spent time I'm jail (I wasn't privy to this info until later), but when I tried to leave the abusive relationship she asked me, "Well, what did you do to make him hit you?" At that moment I knew they would never see my daughter again and I would make sure of that. I couldn't believe she would give him excuses for beating me up.

I am so sorry you went through that!
:(
How dare she blame the victim!
I'm glad you got you and your daughter away from that! Hugs!
Being bullied is not a reason to become a serial killer. There are definitely underlying issues that cause that reaction.
Being bullied is horrible but imho it was TK who was the bully. I guess he didn't take kindly to getting a dose of his own medicine.
He tore apart everyone that tried to be close to him.
In his amazon reviews, when he was talking about getting laid due to buying a purse, that tells you what he thinks of females.
I'd like to hear from some of his ex's. If he really had any.
Also would like to hear from the parent of the child he is supposedly going to put through college.
I truly think that is fully hush money. JMOO

Ever since I watched the old classic movie "the bad seed" I have always wondered if it really could be true that some people are just born with "issues" that predispose them into becoming murderers in their adult life.

TK would be a prime candidate. He shows signs of not being able to feel empathy towards others and with his very early childhood issues I have to think that he may have been born with some sort of mental disorder of some sort.

He exhibited problems at a very young age. Very young. I cant remember how young the mom said but i think it was 2 or 3 years old she began to see problems with him if i remember right.

Everyone should watch that movie! It's a good movie to see inside a child who is a psychopath.
Supposedly it is loosely based on the "Juke Family" (interesting read on them!)

and Belle Gunness

Interesting cases to look at.
I love the movie The Bad Seed. I saw where someone may be making a remake of it?

Was the prayer vigil bit in the CNN article? Frankly, I find it odd that she was be giving any interviews while going through hell. Not saying she's not, but what about the hell the victims' families have been going through? Four families have had 13 years of hell, the surviving victim will have countless years of hell to face. Perhaps now that TK has a public defender, he can advise her to not give any more interviews.

"I'm going through hell right now, said Regina Kohlhepp.

I think she knew all along.
I know some might not agree with me but a mother knows. We have that instinct.
She should be interviewed by LE if she hasn't already.
If she knew of any of the crimes she should be prosecuted.
I feel sympathy for her on one hand but on the other hand if she knew something and didn't talk about it to LE, then she kept important info from them.
Think about all the possible lives that could have been saved if she turned him in after the motor victims.

She absolutely 100% knew and I think your sympathy is misplaced. She claims to remember him being very "jiddery" around the time of the superbike murders. Who remembers, so specifically, how their child was feeling on a certain day over 10 years ago? It's obvious she cultivated a serial killer and believes he did nothing wrong and is only misunderstood. She believes all of his victims deserved to die for "bullying or smart mouthing" her son. This is probably partial based on some sort of extreme guilt she feels for damaging him so terribly as a child or perhaps she truly does believe his victims deserved to be killed and taught him this sort of mentality when he was a child. Maybe the parents aren't to blame for every serial killer, but in this case, I think it's a safe assumption she had a great deal to do with molding a child into the ghoul we know today. Then, going on to protect him as an adult when she knew, or at the very least strongly suspected, he was a serial killer.

Biting is totally 100 hundred percent normal behavior for a child that age. They don't have the words to express their wants, frustrations and needs. It is up to adults to handle that appropriately. A suspension at that age is so ludicrous. It makes me totally ill when I read that.
You beat me to it!
Biting is normal behavior for toddlers. They use it to express many emotions. My son used to bite me when he hugged me. It wasn't a hard bite but it was a bite. I'd fake crying and he would kiss my cheek to make me feel better. The only other time he bit someone was in daycare. A kid was bullying everyone and he chose my son that day. He hit my son and my son bit him in the cheek. The other kid was known to behave badly and came from an abusive home. But I will tell you this it got ugly! I was about to throw down on that mama because I went to college with her and knew she bragged about abusive behavior to her son. I told them repeatedly about it and they notified Child services the day my son bit him. I literally had to be held back from her. I don't think I've ever been so mad in my life! The following monday she brings him in and drops him off and he had maggots in his diaper!!!! He had worn the same diaper all weekend!!!! Same clothes! They again called child services and he was removed from the daycare due to dangerous tendencies and not being cared for properly putting other children at risk. Two weeks later she came to class with him and he had two broken legs in casts...... I called child services AGAIN to report her. She never came back to school and I still pray for that little boy and wish I knew if he was okay today.
My son bit him out of frustration.
Long story to get to the end as usual!!!!
So don't worry your daughter is completely normal and you are right something probably provoked her.
The biting is sometimes easy to break the habit of. If they realize it is hurting someone they will stop.
Kids who are teething bite a lot too. My grandbaby almost took my finger off the other day when I was trying to check her mouth for something because she kept gagging. She latched down on my finger and I screamed "HOLY CRAP SHE HAS TWO NEW MOLARS IN THE BACK!!!!!!" :freakedout::floorlaugh::deepbreaths:
I just can't believe they suspended your child though. It's quite normal behavior and easily broken. Makes me mad too they did that to your daughter. Don't blame you for never going back! :cheer:

I agree that she has likely known since 2003 about the SB murders. He may not have confessed to her back then but there was a reason she was suspicious. Makes me think she was aware of something prior to 2003 (after his release) that they both wanted to forget about (possibly another murder) and when the SB murders occurred, his behavior was enough to sound some alarms for her. I'm sure guilt was a huge factor but it now appears she's covering for herself as well to avoid being an accessory. I'm not a huge advocate for medicating young children, but in some cases it's vital. In addition, the lack of therapy and shipping him off to his dad's for what was to be temporary (2 1/2 years), IMO would bring a lot of guilt. She noted that they were estranged during this time and only began to get close again while he was incarcerated. Knowing what he was capable of, she was the one person in a position to monitor him after he was released. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was scared of him? Maybe he had been abusive and threatening? There's no excuse for not reporting if she knew, though. You couldn't pay me enough to live with her conscience.

Wow. I feel so sad for that little boy and the neglect he had to endure. I hope the broken legs were the extent of the abuse and he was given a chance with a loving family. I believe God gives us mother's intuition as a powerful 6th sense. My daughter had nuzzled when teething, but this was an aggressive bite and the daycare's response didn't sit well. I felt so bad for the little boy, too. Funny (but not funny), my daughter ended up going to the same middle school as the boy. Despite the 10 year hiatus, he remembered the biting incident and avoided her like the plague. They later ended up joking about it and I'm happy to report she'll be 19 next month and has not had any repeat occurrences ;)

The thing is we only have his word that that's what even happened. He killed every witness so he has can make up what the hell he wants now.It could well be that TK just came up with a reason he thought would resonate with his mother in an attempt to justify his actions to her.I don't buy it.
I don't buy it one bit either. She said and I'm paraphrasing here "Why did you do this! I gave you everything!"
Ummmmmm.... no you didn't..... you left him at his abusive bio dads home while you got yourself "together".
At least admit you didn't do everything for him that he needed and maybe she couldn't afford it etc etc. But at least admit that part. She knew his bio dad was a piece of Shitaki mushroom. Yet she sent him off to him.
You send a troubled child into the life of a very troubled adult male and you are creating a monster.
JMOO but I am not believing what he or she is selling. She is just trying to cover her own A$$.
I think she knew all along what he was doing personally.
I mean she hadn't been in the kid's life for over 2 years when he committed the rape. How did she know he was a good boy?
Hell being a court reporter makes you even more aware of what adults do that grow up in these types of homes.
And walking her home afterwards??? OH YES that just makes the crime so much less terrible. :notgood:
I couldn't believe she even said that!
That tells me how she thinks. Don't make excuses for it. He's done horrible crimes to many people for no damn reason. Makes my feathers ruffle! LOL:chicken:

That "I gave you everything" bit really stands out. This isn't about you, lady. But I may see a peek at where the narcissism comes from with your boy.

Oh boy what college? Were there any rapes or kidnappings, missing people etc ..............

B.S. degree in Business Administration/Marketing from University of South Carolina
B.S. degree in Computer Science from Central Arizona College

I assume the Arizona one was while in jail.

Yeah I pray for the little boy often and wonder how and where he is.
I have a feeling she ran with him to get away from child services honestly. She was one of those that went to college to get the extra money. Never finished any degree. So her daycare was free (yet I had to pay 80 dollars a week......).
But let me tell you I still run into some of the day care workers from time to time and we get a good laugh NOW (not then of course) at how I just lost it on that woman. You know I had even brought him a bag of my own sons clothes so he could wear clean clothes and have clean diapers at daycare. I felt so sorry for him. She deserved my wrath I promise lol. Too bad I didn't get to her! I did hear though that someone had turned her in for keeping him locked in a walk in closet when she wasn't home. But that was word of mouth. So these things do happen out there all the time and these little kids have no hope if they don't get help quick and get out of those environments. I can bet you he learned that bullying at home. Because it was probably happening to him every day. She wouldn't tell me how his legs got broke but he sat there in her lap in class with full casts on both legs and I was CRYING for him. He kept saying he was hurting and she told him to hush. BROKE my heart! I would have took him home in a hot second if I could have.
So your daughter didn't nibble on him again I take it?
I'm shocked they never ended up dating!!! That would have been funny!
"Yeah I met her when she bit me and I was in love ever since... " lol!

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/10/us/south-carolina-kohlhepp-cold-case-killings/

:banghead:He did not just "take her away to the house". He held a gun to her head, forced her to go to his house, forced her to undress, forced her to have sex with him and then threatened to kill her siblings if she told anybody"

So first we hear how SHE is going through hell... no thoughts for the victims families? Then she seems to blame TK's dad for leaving him alone as he was a child you "never left alone".(Although bizarrely she says "we left home" so maybe blames herself too... anyone but TK himself?) Then she finishes off by trivialising his crime as "taking her to his house"

The part that is interesting though is her understanding of the motive... he was jealous of the boy so he targeted the boy's girlfriend. She didn't buy the excuse that he did it becuase he was angry with his dad for leaving him either then.
:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Does anyone know when he went to college? He list two degrees on his website, did he do these while in jail?

Yes I believe he did get one while in prison. Apparently case workers tell parolees to list it like that..... Frightening!

Regina Tague, a Moore resident, described her son’s apparent motives – as she says he relayed to her after his arrest last week – during an interview to be broadcast in part during “48 Hours” on Saturday night.
Is she possibly getting paid for all these interviews?
Is she making money off the deaths of these victims?
She sounds medicated or half drunk to me... JMOO

raises hand!
I want that watch list too! :please: He was known to be dangerous. They shouldn't be allowed to go without being monitored often. I also do not for one minute think these are his only victims. I think he just thinks that LE can't pin anything else on him.
His mother said it came to her during a prayer session with the sheriff that he should look into the 4 murders at the bike shop.
That just didn't COME to her. She knew about it all a long and felt guilt for not turning him in sooner.
