Toddler Abandoned at Walmart

Such a hard thing to say..as a mother you think how can you leave your child?! But then you think Thank God she didnt harm him. It brings me to tears thinking of the desperation this mother felt and the pain she is having, and the fear this little boy is feeling.

I noticed the comment section of the linked article. A man says that he lives in Guatemala on a boat because he can't afford to live in the U.S. on his social security. He says that he plans to put the toddler's pic up around there in case family members recognize him. The boy is playing with other kids and seems to understand English, but isn't talking in English yet and isn't responding to the name that the note gave.

Just have to say this...

What a creep the father must be to abandon this family. He could be illegally in the US, and obviously he thinks of himself first, so most likely he won't come forward to claim the child.

I agree! I also thought about the father, we don't know anything about the mother other than she left her child at walmart seeing it as a way for him to be cared for, he does not appear to be beated or starved. We don't know the mothers age or what her coping skills are but I would guess she had limited skills, so what kind of husband/father walks out on his family knowing they need help, he also is responsible for what has happened to this baby!!

I thought of the Amy Giordano case when I first heard this.....I hope it's not the case this time!

By the same token....he's as old as my son, possibly born the same month and everything. Poor little guy. And I hope mama is okay....if she truely felt she had no other choice I hope she's okay. She didn't kill him at least.
