I would love to have observed this today. But much of the time I'm listening to testimony but not watching.

I think she is spooky. In fact, she gives me chills. She is inhuman to me.

I don't think the defense is worried. They've known this is a loser from day one. They're giving it the old college try but all they really hope to accomplish is to try to avoid a death sentence for her client. They know she'll be found guilty of first degree murder, IMO and have all along.

I agree with you but if it was me that found myself in this mess I feel if she would have came into that court room and been honest, humble and remorseful it would have saved her from the DP and she would have got LWOP. So I feel it was her choice to go down the path she has to finish the job. Ruin TA any and every way she could, so DP for her is what she deserves.

It's unethical and likely obstruction fo justice, a crime. But, although it did look like she was signalling, my feeling is it may be a bit subconscious.


BTW, it really is infuriating how this witness is allowed to qualify her answers. The judge should admonish her that she will have a chance to qualify during redirect but must answer ye or no now, if she can.

The judge DID admonish her at least 7 times today! She also didn't let her qualify an answer today. When Juan asked, the judge delivered.

Well, most of the people she lectures to won't be interested in her performance in this trial. Also, most lectures he likely does for free anyhow. academic lectures are rarely paid gigs.

A CV is a curriculum vitae and it gives the educational, employment and training history of medical and psych professionals, among others. I read them when choosing an expert in a case, looking for qualifications, their lelel of expertise and their areas of expertise.

It had to do with Juan grilling ALV on whether her diagnosis of JA was absolute, as in factual, provable...ALV tried to get in that her diagnosis/expertise was similar to that of a FBI profiler, not subjective...DNA was thrown in there as an example of an absolute, provable, testable (like Psyche tests).

ALV would not state that her diagnosis was any different. JMO and what I recall from her long-winded-testiphony. :moo:

Reviewing my memory of watching Nancy Grace evolve over the years, she sees herself as the voice of the little people and she goes with public opinion like foam on a wave.

Earlier this year, CNN decided it wanted to "redefine news" and with it's retarded child HLN, it has proven that news is whatever they say it is, even twelve drunken uncles pulled off the street to offer their opinions in a mock jury vote which is sandwiched in 5 minute slices between commercials of 10 minutes.

I guess they figure anybody watching HLN and isn't watching the trial on a computer is an impotent, fat, couch potato who was damaged by surgery, needs an education and a loan.

THere are six more photos and they are of them having sex. Det. Flores has mentioned this. They aren't exhibits in court because they're likely too pornographic and BOTH sides agree there was sex that day, and both sides agree that the naked photos are sufficient to show they had sex.

I just don't get why some people are so adverse to the idea they had sex that day. Sex was te only reason Travis was still seeing her at all despite her creating so much problems and stalking him. The idea that she spent all those hours at his house that day, that there are naked pictures of them from that day and naked pictures of him in the shower that day and the didn't have sex when that was the only reason Travis was seeing her at that point at all is just silly.

Do you know for a FACT that they had sex or whatever you consider "sex" on that day? If you have evidence of that, please do tell. TIA

Well, that's not what I'm seeing. The judge did admonished her not to add to her answers, but not after several objections. She overruled several and was not tough enough in tone or clear enough in explanation as to how Laviolette was being non-responsive.

I know many judges who would have gotten flat angry at her antics. This judge really let her get away with it to the point that I watched JM kind of give up in objecting on many occasions and just let her ramble, because she knew the judge was not going to be of help. It was frustrating to watch. But it also hurt this lady's credibility, IMO.

If she was my witness, I would not be pleased at her performance today. Not at all. All she has to say is, "Yes, but qualified" and that signals Wilmott to ask her to extrapolate during redirect.

All I can say is I can see what's happening based on my own experience. And most of the time I feel the anger on the board toward this judge is due to not understanding exactly how things work or what she is allowed to do. But in this case, I join with those who feel she didn't do her job.

I don't think they spent much time downstairs. She didn't want to chance them at the table or desk and a roommate coming in and seeing them. I think she ran down and got their food and she just kept him busy so he wouldn't want to go downstairs.

You bring up an excellent observation. The medical examiner stated that Travis Alexander had a small portion of food in his stomach - his stomach contents would match eating only one bowl of oatmeal that day.

I realize that Travis Alexander was getting in shape for Cancun - I assume this means watching his diet.

However, the fact that Travis Alexander ate only one bowl of oatmeal on June 4 has always seemed strange to me.

I'm not sure what happened the day that Arias showed up at Travis Alexander's house on June 4 - but I do wonder if Arias made Travis Alexander her prisoner from the time she showed up at TA's house to the time Arias decided it was time to butcher TA.

On June 4 - Travis Alexander missed an important business call. It was typical for Travis Alexander to miss business calls. A call that I do not think that Travis Alexander would have missed if he was "free" to do what he wanted on June 4.

When Travis Alexander missed the June 4th 7pm business conference call - I wish that one of his friends would have taken notice. After all, his friends report TA stating that if he does not show up (to Sunday dinner) he is probably dead (at the hands of Arias). What if instead of being butchered to death by Arias - TA missed the June 4th phone call because he slipped, fell, hit his head?

I feel so bad for Travis Alexander - I think that he was a good hearted person. I think that the fact that it took 5-6 days for anyone to look for Travis Alexander - shows how Arias was able to "wiggle" her way into TA's life. Perhaps Arias targeted TA because she saw TA as a perfect victim - a person that was lonely, a person that was vulnerable.

For two years there had been a known threat in TA's life. Before TA's death TA had expressed the fact that Arias was going to murder him. When Travis Alexander misses his important business conference call on June 4 at 7pm - not one person made an attempt to find out if TA was okay (especially considering that Arias had behaved as TA's personal boogyman for a long time).

I'm not blaming TA's friends - I'm pointing out the possible reasons that Arias targeted Travis Alexander for her victim.

I do not believe anything Arias says that happened on June 4 - since TA missed a business call (something that TA would not do) on June 4 - and considering Travis Alexander had so little to eat on June 4th - It seems possible that when Arias showed up at Travis Alexander house, Travis Alexander was Arias' prisoner. Travis Alexander was at Arias' mercy - which makes his murder so much worst, IMO. If Travis Alexander was Arias' prisoner on June 4 - Travis Alexander would have been tortured, and, scared for hours before Arias butchered him to death.
