This could be his 'excuse' for being over cautious and hypervigilant.

The thing I found strange - how could a psych state for certain there were no issues in previous relationships unless they spoke to the other people involved?

I also wondered about that. I found a number of the statements that were made in that report to be reading in between the lines somewhat, filling in the blanks with Oscar's version, of necessity!

D is explaining 'beta receptors' and how he is studying if people can still react with stress when taking beta-blockers

Think this is where we are going with this; that maybe he is painting a pic of just how powerful and (unstoppable?) stress response can be?

I am afraid that I fully agree with you. lol

It will be harder to argue that he snapped in a rage and killed her purposely now.

We haven't heard the contents of Nel's psych report. Roux made a point of reading as much as he could. You have to know the contents of both before drawing too many conclusions IMO.

He's worked in Florida, apropos of nothing.....I'm a little bored.

That report was helpful for the defense. Roux and OP never claimed diminished capacity or mental defect that would render him unable to understand what he was doing or appreciate right from wrong.

Dr MV called it GAD, but the report calls it vulnerability, especially when on his stumps. That was the whole point of the doctor's testimony - to explain that Oscar felt threatened and vulnerable to harm because of past incidents and his disability.

In addition, you've now got a report from psychiatrists and psychologists who evaluated him for 30 days and find that he does not have a rage or anger problem and that his emotions and grieving behaviors are sincere.
He's sincerely grieving and emotional for himself.
BBM, JMO

Are you eliminating the neighbours that heard arguing?

No. But I think it makes it harder to imagine him shooting her in cold blood, if he had no diagnosis supporting explosive anger issues, narcissism, sociopathic tendencies. And now that they report that his crying and grief is sincere, it might make the judge feel sorry for him. jmo

The judge will more than likely be impressed by this wiffle-waffle though :(

D he cares for mental/emotional health, as well as physical, for travelling athletes.

*I had no idea there were specialists in travelling athletes.

.. and yet there have been plenty of other examples where he has done just that (snapped in a rage) .. all proven.

D: Milady, I have been very fortunate in my career.......

listing all his awards now.

Now D is listing why he is qualified to testify on this. He also has 'intimate knowledge of Mr Pistorius'.

D: This report summarizes Mr P......med consultations, observations, residing with him Beijing, Lon Olympics....observed him interacting with team, public etc..

I wish we could have had more witnesses coming in and describing him throwing chairs, threatening people, etc. I think those in athletic realm avoided doing so.

Oh, are we actually going to get to the point now?

Bit odd - he just said 'unlike other athletes' he's worked closely with OP on anti-doping??

I wonder if Nel is ready for this guy with specific questions for him.

He and OP skype each other and have stayed in contact after 'the events in Feb'
