Once you smell a dead body, you will never ever forget the smell. I believe the LE smelled a dead body, that of Cooper. I hope one of jurors has smelled a dead body to help explain to the rest.....not that I would want anyone to have that awful experience.

Accusing the State's LEO witnesses of lying about smelling an odor of death is a harsh charge. Did a bunch of Officers gather 'round the table and decide it would help their charges against Ross Harris if they lied by embellishing their testimony with faux facts AND then the Officers agreed to perjure themselves by repeating the faux facts in court?

Regardless, this homicide should not hinge on testimony of a peculiar smell or lack thereof.

IMO, the misrepresentations by LE pretrial and at trial warrant that "harshness."

I have a zero tolerance policy for LE not conducting themselves with absolute integrity, especially when their lack of integrity affects the constitutionally protected due process rights of a defendant in a criminal trial.

Am I hearing correctly, that the measurements by LE of carseat to RH, and the dummy re- creation, etc, were all done AFTER LE adjusted the car seat? In other words, are distortions of how close and what RH was able to see, etc.?

I thought he said the adjustments were after the dummy. I wonder which it is. I'm going to look and see if a reporter might have tweeted the info.

Allegations of negligence by ME involved in #RossHarris #HotCarDeath trial - could become an issue in the case

I'm pretty sure the photos just shown in court WERE taken after LE adjusted the top part of the car seat, which is why the defense referred back to the photos taken in July 2014 of the seat 's original position.

Skimmed the charges against the ME. OMG. Literally gross, systemic negligence.

I missed the live feed part of that, sorry. I'm confused by what you mean n regards to the "top" part of the car seat. You can't adjust the top of an infant car seat. The straps are adjustable, but the seat itself is one piece.

Nighttime comfort break..court will resume @8:30am tomorrow.

Blue- the head rests on (some, at least) car seats are adjustable-- can be lowered or raised, and if I understood that testimony correctly (may not have), LE raised the head rest after taking July 2014 photos, and the measurements (?) (!) of proximity from seat to RH, etc cited in court earlier by the State were not taken from the seat 's original position, and the photos shown were not the original photos, but taken after seat adjustments.

I hope I am just experiencing info overload and am misunderstanding what I just heard.....

Gotcha, thanks fr the clarification. Cooper's seat looked like one piece with a shade to me, that's where my confusion came from.

I get it. I have zero tolerance policy for humans not conducting themselves with absolute integrity, including those in the legal system. However, I am disappointed every day due to my high standards on expected human behavior.

Have any of the State's witnesses been impeached by their prior testimony?

I think he said he was with the team that investigated accidental, undetermined and homicide deaths.
I remember because it made me think of the show "Dead Like Me", (I loved that show).

Anyway, not sure if it's the same all over, but where I live, if someone dies in the home, or basically anywhere outside of a hospital with a known illness, they investigate, I believe it's law. Sorry to just jump in, but I finally saw something I maybe knew the answer to!

Anyone else think it's odd the way he's being questioned about the stuff in the back of the car? What's up with that, is it relevant to Cooper's death?

jumo I think the State was trying to say that RH could have put Cooper there to do CPR instead of the pavement. But jmho, I think both he and the gentleman that helped it was faster on the ground. But that what I got from that question testimony.

Love ya bunches DeDee but evidently per testimony that is what happened. JMHO and I have to for sure go back and relisten. But again...per testimony JMHO

YES, the measurements from 6/18 and 7/2 were different. Pushing the seat in a different angle than orig was on 6/18. So any of those scans for the 3D are not factual measurments. JMHO from what I understood. AND he left the car seat in the car.

Thank you!!!!!! That's a major correction of the record. :)
Another correction of record today for me was the detective stating there was one small scratch beneath Conner's right eye. It has been widely and incorrectly reported that Conner had numerous scratches on his face from self clawing.

I have a hard time believing that there was NOT a smell at all in the car when JRH got off work the day Cooper died.

Several, if not almost all witnesses called to the stand have said that they smelled something. They've reported smelling either urine, sweat, or decomposition. Both the good Samaritan and a LE witness state they both smelled something "musty."

But the defense wants me to believe there was no smell (per their opening arguments), or that if there was, JRH lacks the sense of smell to have noticed it. Unbelievable.

7/2 put seat back into the rear seat, was taking photos, Inv Lupo? was there. Relied only on notes/reports no diagram. The adjustment was lower 7/2 than orig, which gave a different angle more downward to the front seat. There is a tilt at the bottom they said was about 4 inches.

On the dummy, they used a different on first, then got the more life like to Cooper afterwards. Stoddard IIRC was there for that one (from the pretrial hearing where I got my thoughts on that

They showed on the car seat. On the bottom the thing platform, the car seat snaps into, it can raise the seat up or lower it. It was different height on 7/2 than orig was 6/18. Thats what I understood. Could be misunderstanding but they showed it (State did on redirect)

Speaking as a member of the medical profession

1) There would undoubtedly be an odour if a child was left in a hot car for so long.
However, whether a person was able to smell it, depends on that individuals sense of smell.

2) When attempting to resuscitate, the patient should be quickly placed on a hard surface. If that happens to be a hot pavement/sidewalk, well to be honest, that is the least of problems!

Re- impeaching. That's a matter of opinion and for the jury to decide, but IMO, a plethora of the State's witnesses have been effectively impeached by the defense. :D

Re: high standards of human behavior, LE, and being disappointed. I don't apply the same standards to "civilians" that I do to professionals of any kind. For example, I wouldn't hire a friend who only takes selfies on her phone to be my wedding photographer, but I would expect my professional wedding photographer to take better photos than my friend who is adept only with selfies.

And, I don't expect random civilians or friends or family to know what is and is not legal and ethical when conducting LE investigations and making reports and testifying in court, but yes, I do expect trained LE, who are public servants and trusted to honor their oaths, to have that knowledge, and integrity.
