There are two things I found odd/interesting about this case...way back when it happened:

1. Most of the pro-prosecution arguments were made public during the bond hearing. That was shown on more than one national TV channel, which is not common. Most bond hearings are pretty boring. Somebody leaked it to the media that this bond hearing would be sensational. Before the bond hearing, there was a lot of support for Ross and contempt for LE. The bond hearing allowed the prosecution to get their case against Ross out to a very wide audience. The tide completely turned against Ross after that day. I have no doubt it was intentional.

2. After Ross was charged with murder but before the bond hearing, when there were a lot of people defending him and there was a video posted on YouTube supporting Ross and calling out some local official. Maybe that video enraged someone. I don't mean that they are prosecuting him for murder because of that video...but perhaps making sure that their case against Ross was reported all over the media...was their way of telling the family that they are not going to win in a PR battle. Before the bond hearing, it seemed that Ross's family and friends were ready to fight for him in the media but they all went silent after the bond hearing.

I have no doubt this case would have played out very differently in the media if that bond hearing was held behind closed doors and none of the arguments were made public. The case against Ross was too strong and too horrific for the media to give his supporters a platform after that. His family and friends were ready to go on a huge smear campaign against local officials (look at the video they made) but that was halted.

Entering photos from the scene as evidence.

Boring? he said? Very information-rich testimony @ Ross Harris IMHO

#RossHarris #HotCarDeath scene pic shows white sheet on driver side of SUV.:(

That white sheet is so small :(
Poor Cooper <3

This is the part of trials I hate...the nitpicking of details that don't seem to hold a significant amount of importance, when it's already been summed up.

Poor Cooper <3

Made me feel just sick seeing that. He was so little. Honestly I don't know how, if this was an accident, that JRH can live with himself. I would want to die. I wouldn't be able to function. I would probably just pick a spot and lie there until I died. Even the thought of being in that position makes me so anxious and nauseous.

And the death was not immediate.....that is what gets me.....how long this precious child suffered......shudders.

edit to add and Ross Harris was so calm about it.

I'm a firm believer in prayer, but, IMO the Lord gave JH a brain and the rules on how to live in a marriage and Ross choose to ignore that. He's the one who said he has no conscious. He still choose to kill his son, ON PURPOSE, so the defense can chip away all he wants. There was no excuse for JH to leave Cooper in the car. Although I didn't care for the way the State delivered opening statements, valuable points were still made to show guilt. :jail:

BBM - Yes, and I also noticed that the defense is characterizing JH as struggling with "sexual sin." I'm not interested in the texts or online searches because of the idea of sin. I'm interested in how they provide a preponderance of evidence that shows his attitude toward his family.

I also think that if this were a fat homely woman on trial for a hot car death that people would be a LOT less forgiving about underage sexting and general prowling on the Internet for hookups. They would not paint her behavior as a painful personal struggle, but a series of terrible choices that disrespected her family and child.

Am I allowed to post youtube video links? Here is one that shows what the officer references to as Will Farrell's "glass case of emotion"

Dear lord.

IF I understood correctly, (and my notes) where she said pointed out where she saw Defendant walking around when she first pulled up (photo was an after )... and then where she pointed out her vehicle in the actual photo it seems like was a little different area. State exhibit #210, Def Attorney had her point out herself out in photo (she on drivers side of the Defendant car with another officer.) Did she move her patrol car before or after the Defendant was placed in her car? ** good thing about live stream can go back and review later lol**

JMHO I curious why she has not review the dash cam video prior to her testimony?

IMO, the DT had the more powerful opening statement. I have been saying for a couple weeks that Detective Stoddard's credibility is going to a be a major key to this trial. I have to admit that I am greatly disheartened by what I heard, but I am not surprised. Every person, including JRH, is entitled to a fair trial where witnesses don't lie under oath or in sworn affidavits. I am really bothered by the fact that the lead detective in this case repeatedly made misstatements under oath. However, it has not changed my opinion on Ross's guilt. By Ross's own admission, he left Cooper in the car. The undisputed facts also show that JRH was practically attached to his phone, even when we was supposed to be watching Cooper. His level of distraction meets the bar for criminal negligence in Georgia IMO.

I think it was smart of the defense to say, repeatedly, that Harris from the beginning never denied being responsible for Cooper's death ("What have I done? What have I done? ").

Yes, Harris is most certainly responsible for Cooper's death. That obviously is different, though, than his being guilty of the criminal charges brought against him for Cooper's death.

I'm now even less sure that any felony charges should have been brought against Harris (certainly not any that equate what happened with murder), and close to convinced he had no intention whatsoever of harming Cooper.

He either forgot Cooper was in the car or he didn't. If he didn't forget and left Cooper on purpose, IMO whatever he did afterwards doesn't make him more guilty, and, if he did forget Cooper by the time he reached the intersection, whatever he did afterwards is irrelevant, unless it bears directly on missed cues about Cooper not being at daycare, which Harris doesn't appear to have received.
