Monday, May 24th:
*Trial continues (Day 10)-VERDICT WATCH! (Day 4)-MISTRIAL! (@ 9am CT) – OH – DelVante Johnson (19), Toshaun Banks (21) & DeVaughn Gibson (23) (Dec. 31, 2018, Cleveland) - *Tevin Biles-Thomas (24/now 26) arrested (9/11/19), indicted (8/29/19), charged (8/29/19) & arraigned (9/13/19) with 6 counts of murder (2 counts for Johnson, 2 counts for Banks & 2 counts for Gibson) was changed (5/11/21) to 5 counts of murder (2 counts Johnson, 2 counts Banks & 1 count Gibson: Count 9 (murder for Gibson) was dismissed (5/11/21) by DA’s oral motion with prejudice), 3 counts of voluntary manslaughter (1 count for Johnson, 1 count for Banks & 1 count for Gibson), 4 counts of felonious assault (1 count for Johnson, 1 count for Gibson, 1 count for Banks, 1 count for physical harm for Brown & 1 count for physical harm to Seawright; update: 5/19/21 Judge Synenberg dismissed 1 count of felonious assault regarding shooting of Brown) & 1 count of perjury. Plead not guilty. $1M Cash/Surety bond. Bond modified (12/18/19) to $100K. Posted bond (12/19/19).

5/24/21 Monday, Day 10 of trial & Jury deliberations (Day 4): Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Joan Synenberg declared a mistrial on Monday. Copies of legal briefs from prosecutors & Biles-Thomas' attorneys somehow ended up among the trial evidence the court gave the jury to consult during its deliberations. A new trial is to begin on Wednesday, 5/26/21 with jury selection.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am MT) - ID – Larry Dean Isenberg (68) (Feb. 13, 2018, Coeur d’Alene; found Mar. 1, 2018) – *Laurcene “Lori” Barnes Isenberg (62 @ time of crime/64/now 65) arrested (2/24/20), charged (2/25/20), indicted & arraigned (3/3/20) with 1st degree murder (Perpetrated by Poison, Torture, Vengeance, Extortion, or Sadistic Inclinations). Plead not guilty. $2M bond.
Trial set to begin on 6/2/21 was cancelled because she plead guilty.

GUILTY - ID - Larry Isenberg, 68, Coeur d'Alene, 13 Feb 2018

2/11/21 Update: Isenberg has plead guilty to second-degree murder on Thursday, 2/11/21. Lori Isenberg’s trial, which has been repeatedly postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was scheduled to begin June 2, 2021, according to the Coeur d'Alene Press. Her sentencing for second-degree murder is now scheduled for May 24, 2021.
5/24/21 Update: Judge Scott Wayman sentenced Isenberg to life in prison with 30 years fixed. In court Monday, Isenberg gave a rambling explanation calling her husband’s death an accident, but the judge told her that her explanation for the man’s death did not hold up. Isenberg made a deal to plead guilty to second-degree murder in February. Isenberg is already serving time for embezzling $579,000 from the North Idaho Housing Coalition, where she worked.

Friday, May 21st:
*Trial continues (Day 4)-VERDICT REACHED! (@ 9am CT) – IN – Nicole Lynn Bowen (30) (missing March, 29, 2019, Jefferson Township, Newton County, found March 30, 2019) – for *Ashley N. Garth (26/now 27) arrested (4/3/19) & charged (3/29/19) with felony count of assisting a criminal. Plead not guilty. $25K bond. Posted bond (1/30/21) & out.
*Charged (3/29/19) with murder, conspiracy to commit murder conspiracy results in death (Felony 1) & assisting a criminal in committing murder. Count 4: Involuntary manslaughter was severed for purposes of trial. Held without bond. Judge reduces bond (1/10/20) to $50K.
Trial began on 5/17/21 with jury selection & trial started on 5/18/21 & ended on 5/21/21 with guilty of all charges.

5/19/21 Wednesday, Day 2 of trial: State witness: Garett Kirts. Jeffrey Sneath. No info available yet. Trial continues on 5/20/21.
5/20/21 Thursday, Day 3 of trial: No info available yet. Trial continues on 5/21/21.
5/21/21 Friday, Day 4 of trial: Found guilty on all three charges. Sentencing hearing is set for June 9th.
*Talitha Ann Beckley (36/now 38) – Pretrial hearing on 5/28/21. Trial begins on 7/26/21.
*Garrett Kenneth Kirts (21/now 22) – 9/4/20: Plead guilty. Sentenced on 1/11/21 to 55 years in prison.
*Christopher Channing Mathis (27/now 28) – 9/18/20: Plead guilty & sentenced to time served (912 days). Out of jail. Cooperating with White County on Hanish case.
*Nicole Parker (34/now 36) – 10/8/19: Plead guilty. According to the plea agreement, Parker also will serve 4 years in prison for being a habitual offender, based on felony convictions in 2018 for unlawful possession of a syringe in Jasper County & in 2004 for burglary in Tippecanoe County. Earliest release date 1/4/23.

Thursday, May 27th:
*Pretrial Conference Hearing (for both cases) (@ 9am CT) – TX – Maleah Davis (4) (last seen 4/30/19, kidnapped (per suspect) on May 3, 2019, reported missing on May 4, 2019, Houston; found off Hwy I-30 near exit 18, 14 miles southwest of Hope, AK on 5/31/19) - *Derion Marquise Vence (27/now 28) “stepfather” arrested & charged (5/11/19) & indicted (7/25/19) with 2nd degree felony evidence tampering/human corpse. $1M bond, reduced (5/13/19) to $45K Cash bond.
*Indicted (7/25/19) & charged (8/5/19) with 1st degree felony injury to a child with intentionally and knowingly causing serious bodily injury. $45K Cash bond. Total of $90K cash bond.
Says Maleah was kidnapped by 3 men when he was driving to the airport to pick up M’s mother. 5/31/19 Confessed to accidental death & told where to find Maleah, but they were not the correct spots per LE.
Trial was set to begin on 7/26/21.

9/29/20 Update: Disposition hearing rescheduled to 11/4/20. Has been reset to 11/6/20. Trial set to begin on 7/26/21. 11/6/20 Update: Attorneys absent. Reset by court (no further dates except trial date). 11/6/20 Update: Bond conditions hearing on 12/18/20.
12/18/20 Update: DA wants bond set at $90K, defense asked for $45K. Vence’s bond is set at $90,000 for both charges. He agreed to the conditions. As part of Vence's bond conditions, the state requested that he remained within Harris County and the surrounding areas. He must have no contact with Brittany Bowens, the mother of Maleah, or any member of the Davis family, as well as any children under the age of 17. He must submit to random drug testing & wear a GPS monitor. And he must not own a gun. No further dates on court site, just trial on 7/26/21 as of 12/21. Next pretrial hearing on 5/27/21.
5/27/21 Update: Vence plead guilty Thursday to tampering with a corpse & injury to a child -- 4-year-old Maleah Davis -- and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Intentional injury to a child which causes serious injury by act or omission is a first degree felony. He was sentenced to 40 years for intentional injury to a child & 20 years for tampering with a corpse. Vence will serve the sentences concurrently.

*Trial set to begin-CANCELLED! (@ 8:30am CT) - TX - Addyson Renae Overgard-Eddy (2) & Brynn Hawkins (1) (June 9, 2017, Kerrville; kids left in car overnight) – for *Kevin William Franke (17/now 18) has been charged (2/5/18) with 2 counts of murder & 2 counts of manslaughter, 2 counts injury to a child & 2 counts of child abandonment. Plead not guilty (4/26/18). $300K bond. Bond reduced (10/9/18) to $12.5K.
Trial was set to begin on 3/30/20-cancelled due to coronavirus. From Kerr County to Kendall County for trial.

Injury to child (2 counts): 1/5/21: Order: for re-arrest and setting $15,000 Cash Bond. Mansalughter (2 counts): 1/5/21: Order: for re-arrest & setting $15K Cash Bond. Murder: 1/5/21: Order: for re-arrest & setting $25K Cash Bond; 2nd murder charge: 1/5/21: Order: for re-arrest & setting $25K Cash Bond.
5/19/21 Update: 2 murder charges were dismissed, 2 manslaughter charges were dismissed & 2 injury to child charges were dismissed. He plead guilty to the 2 charges for abandon endanger child & was sentenced to 12 years in prison, jail credit of 379 days & $10K fine.
*Amanda Kristene Hawkins (19) "mom" arrested & Grand jury indicted (8/30/17) on charges of 2 counts of child endangerment & abandonment & 2 counts of reckless injury to a child. ($300K bail), plead not guilty. Trial was supposed to happen 9/24. Took plea deal & plead guilty, sentencing on 12/12/18. Sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Friday, May 28th:
*Trial continues (Day 8)-VERDICT REACHED! (Day 2) (@ 8:30am CT) – IA – Mollie Cecilia Tibbetts (20) (July 18, 2018, Brooklyn; found Aug. 21, 2018) – *Cristhian Bahena Rivera aka John Budd (24/now 26) arrested (8/21/18), charged (8/22/18) & arraigned (9/19/18) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. $5M cash only bond.
ICE logged an immigration detainer on Rivera. Confessed to killing Mollie.
Trial began on 5/17/21 with jury selection & ended 5/18/21. Trial started on 5/19/21 & ended on 5/27/21). Trial moved from Poweshiek County to Scott County in Davenport. 12 jurors & 3 alternates (8 women & 7 men); Jurors: Hispanic/Latino/Spanish-3, White-12 (now 9-minus alternates), jurors ages range from 19 to 71. Jury instructions added 2nd degree murder, voluntary manslaughter & involuntary manslaughter.
5/27/21: Jurors started deliberations @ 1:30pm CT to ~4:30pm CT. Total: ~3 hours (+ 6 mins). 5/28/21: Jurors started deliberations ~8:30am CT to ~12:30pm (for lunch) (~4 hours). Started back @ ~1pm CT to ~1:10pm (10 mins.) VERDICT Reached!
Total deliberations: ~7 hours & 16 minutes. Guilty of 1st degree murder.

5/28/21 Friday, Day 8 of Trial & Day 2 of Jury deliberations: Jurors took a total of ~7 hours & 15 minutes to reach a Guilty verdict 1st degree murder. PSI to be prepared, no bond pending sentencing. Will be sentenced on 7/15/21 @ 9:30am at Montezuma, County seat of Poweshiek County. Mandatory sentence fo 1st degree murder is life without parole.
