No, they could just use JailBreak (sp?); that's what people use in Turkey when they don't want to register electronics, and it's illegal...but that's what they use with "hot" goods, too.

I stand corrected. A phone guy told me jailbreak only works on older phones.

I wonder if the LE showed those surveillance videos taken on the 21st to her brother and husband. They were never released publically. They would probably know best if it was really her, (and not someone wearing her missing coat, hat and gloves) assuming she was looking down or distant.

Hey, if this person was worried about vehicular homicide, I could see them wanting to move the body and take off without reporting it.

If it being in the middle of or early in the afternoon is an issue because this is likely to have been seen, maybe they put the body in their car/truck asap after realizing she was dead/dying and then brought it back there after. Where else would they put it? If it was put somewhere else, might be likely traced to them. The time of day and the not being seen doing any of this, does seem unlikely, even though someone said the traffic would be low at this time of day, but I doubt it would be so low as to not be seen at all.

Anyways, I wondered also about this theory, because of the single blow to head that killed her. The other brusing to head, and scratches on wrists, other bruises elsewhere, could all be consistent with a car striking a body, and being dragged. Scratches on HER wrists? How does that happen in a struggle. Seems more likely from dragging the body, either on the ground/rocks, or on pavement i.e. car.

I feel the probability of the above is low, but it is still possible. Would also explain the missing clothes, as they might be evidence of a car accident, i.e. road burn from being dragged.

Maybe the driver was the Swiss consul's wife.

Switching the theory, I still think it is more likely she was ambushed where she was, and dragged near the rocks, and robbed of valuables. Jeans, leather jacket, and electronics are infinitely more valuable than costume jewelry.

Respectfully snipped, I think this is a little far fetched. I doubt that a disorganized thief such as this would have an eye trained well enough to assess the metallurgic make up of her jewelry after such a frenzied attack. (Yes, I assessed it from a photograph, but I have a fair amount of training in the matter, and frankly, I'm not positive I am correct in what I assessed.)

I think such a thief would have taken it all and sorted it out later. The attacker wanted the information on the phone and ipad, in my opinion. The jacket could have contained DNA from the killer.

Please note: Real gold CAN appear that yellow, but because of the malleability of gold that pure, it wouldn't be practical for such a ring design. If a disorganized killing thief knows that much about metals, his/her talents are wasted on the streets.

I dont know exactly if its true or not but just FYI
In the above news dated 07 FEB it says that the blanket found in the scene was covered on the young woman's body. Also the police declared that there existed a second blanket under the corpse. The police takes into consideration that the murderers throw the body to the walls just to get the attention to the homeless.

I wonder if that was a random attack or an accident how come they found two blankets nearby.We dont know how the blankets look like. The homeless blankets seem old and worn out and the caps surely looked for DNA on them and i guess they didnt match the homeless or the other guys they questioned.

Then can she be murdered in a house /store so the murderer can easily get those blankets? Are the blankets rather new we dont know anything abt that.

If the killer is a man, he wouldn't know the difference between metals, most likely, unless the gold color was coming off.

The killer took her phone and iPad for at least one of 2 reasons. 1) the value - to sell or keep for his or her self 2) Thinking that without these items, the police wouldn't find as much evidence.

I think the killer either didn't think her jewelry was valuable (maybe they knew she wasn't flush with cash?) OR was terrified it could be traced back to him or her...(people see jewelry, but can't see the registration number of an electronic device).

Newbie here - been patiently waiting to ask some questions. I'll start with fact/timeline stuff and get on to speculation in another post.

The timeline posted by Daily Mail has big vague spots. Important data to know that I don't see established:

1. When did she contact husband to send money to change ticket?
2. Was this before or after meeting Tarkan K?
3. When did she actually change the airline ticket?

4. What flight was she supposed to make for her return flight? It really frames the time she had available and the plans possible for January 21
(I have read both Jan 21 and Jan 22 for departure dates, and believe I saw husband Steven mention Jan 21, with arrival Jan 22 on United Airlines. The only flights that match this criteria depart IST at 17:30, 18:30, etc with increasingly long (12 hour +) layovers in some European city. If she had to fly out at 17:30 Jan 21, she did not have much time to be wandering around that morning)

Maybe she met up with friends on the 21st after she walked out of camera range and went to a party or something and maybe some girl thought she was hitting on her boyfriend and they fought and Sarai fell and they freaked. Possibilities are endless....

Was she supposed to leave on the 21st or 22nd?
Cmac2, I think you follow all the posts, (I'm so behind) did anyone determine the exact time or date her plane was leaving?

I think the latest news reports say that LE is speculating that she was taken to someone's home, killed there, and then dumped in the spot where found.

I believe general consensus has her leaving for home the 22nd. Some reports said the 21st, but we've basically been able to determine that would be impossible.
