What's your take on the behavior at the gas station and how it points to the possibility of self-harm?

I interpret it as waiting for someone (possibly looking for them inside and waiting or searching the parking lot, either for them or for a confirmation of a meeting place). JMO.

It very much looks like he is waiting for someone. From that, I would infer that he was either really waiting for someone or he wanted to create the impression that he was waiting for someone. One possible reason he went to that station and not the one he usually went to; which was closer to his home, was that there were better CCTV there. This is total speculation/conjecture on my part.

It's an idea, but I can't think of a case where someone staged their suicide to appear as a possible homicide, can you? He wouldn't have known LE would seek out that specific footage. So I believe he was actually waiting for someone and something happened. Of course, none of us know for sure...

In February, police entertained the idea that Abrahamson's death might have been a suicide. The working theory became: He tied a gun to a string, attached it to the weather balloon, and once the shot was fired, the balloon carried the weapon away from the scene.

Did they confirm what the gas tank was at before he went there, or how much he bought?

I'd think it's much more likely that he was there for much more mundane reasons than some of the things being suggested.

Just getting back from the gym, (possibly after a protein shake or pre-workout drink), paired with visiting the gas station with one of the cleaner restrooms - It could be something as simple as if he was trying to figure out if he needed to answer the call of nature there or wait until he got home.

I just watched a show about this one. Totally crazy but it's true. They even found internet searches on his computer about making a suicide look like homicide. He'd been planning it for years. Fact is stranger than fiction.

His niece (verified insider) said early on that the RaceTrac off Inwood was not on his normal route. Their theory was that there was a robbery at his usual fill-up place and he wanted to avoid the area in case the road was closed.

honestly it's hard to come up with a coherent theory that doesn't seem completely outlandish or overly complex.

The thing that currently bothers me is his phone. For quite a while, his phone was missing, then suddenly it was reported that LE had it, but never stated when/where it was recovered from.

Thank you for requesting this again and I agree with your opinion. If nothing else, I always hope your request spurs some type of a reminder that people haven't forgotten about Alan and they need to dust off his case file!
