Officials continue searching for missing Jasper man

Sabine County authorities say they will continue their search for 28-year-old Alfred Wright of Jasper on Monday.

Sheriff Tom Maddox says Wright went missing Thursday night after his car overheated and broke down at the CL&M Liquor store on Highway 87 about 4 miles south of Hemphill.

Anyone with information about Alfred Wright is urged to call the Sabine County Sheriff's Office at (409) 787-2266

Missing Jasper man is a football scholar turned physical therapist

The mother of a missing Jasper man, Alfred Wright, 28, says it's hard but she is holding on to hope that her son will be found safe.

Wright, who was last seen Nov 7 at a package store in Hemphill, is a 2003 graduate of Jasper High School. Rosalind Wright says her son earned a $100,000 scholarship to play football at Mary Hardin-Baylor. After two years, Wright transferred to the University of Tennessee where he earned a physical therapy degree. Wright graduated Magna *advertiser censored* Laude. His mother describes him as family man with three sons ages 8, 4, and 2. According to Rosalind Wright, his wife Lauren was the last person he talked to the day he went missing. He told her he was having trouble with his 2008 Dodge Hemi pick-up truck.

UPDATE: Texas EquuSearch assisting in search for missing Jasper man

News has learned Texas EquuSearch is assisting the Sabine County Sheriff's Office in the search for Alfred Wright, 28, of Jasper. The area searched Saturday is a heavily wooded area along Highway 87 south of Hemphill. Volunteers from all 8 volunteer fire departments in Sabine County, deputies with Jasper County, and citizen volunteers assisted in the search which ended at Saturday night. The search will resume Sunday morning.

Missing Jasper husband/father

Authorities are expected to continue their search Sunday for a missing Jasper man, according to the man's family.
Family and friends joined law enforcement officers Saturday to search for Alfred Wright.

He went missing on Thursday in a remote are in Sabine County.

The 28-year-old lives in Jasper and is married and has children.

His car was found at this store on the corner of hwy 87 and Crowell Rd. Channel 12 news said his clothes were located in a field near Coussons Dr which is on the other side of the highway.

Search underway for missing Jasper man

A search is underway for a missing Jasper man, who disappeared in a very remote area of Sabine County.

Authorities say 28-year-old Alfred Wright was last seen at about 5:00 on Thursday evening on Highway 87, about five miles south of Hemphill, when his vehicle broke down at the C-L&M Package Store, and he left walking alongside Highway 87.

Wright is a home health physical therapist, and he was reportedly on his way to see a patient when he went missing.

Family prays for safe return of missing Jasper man

Family, firends, volunteers and officials searched relentlessly for a missing Jasper man through a thick wooded area in Sabine County Sunday.

"He's just a great kid, and I miss him and I just want him found," the man's mother, Rosalind Wright, said.

Alfred Wright, 28, went missing Thurday.

"He's the one that always wanted to go hunting with me when he was two years old and I had to tote him on my shoulder and he's a little, always wanted to be the little tough guy," Wright's father, Douglas Wright, Sr.

Wright's a father to three boys.

Authorities call off ground search for missing Jasper man

The ground search for a 28-year-old Jasper man who disappeared Thursday night after work in Hemphill has been called off, according to Sabine County Sheriff Tom Maddox.

Maddox told KTRE news Monday night that the ground search has been called off because they have exhausted all their resources. He said he wanted to make it clear that there is no evidence in this investigation that leads authorities to believe that there is foul play involved. He says Alfred Wright is just a missing person and he will continue to treat it as a missing person case.

Missing Jasper man was charged with crime in Tennessee

As the search continues for 28 year old Alfred Wright, a Jasper man who has now been missing since Thursday of last week, records revealed on Wednesday that he was recently named in a Federal Indictment charging him with Theft, Embezzlement, or Misapplication by Bank Employee.

Records also reveal that Wright made arrangements to post $50,000.00 in bail following a federal hearing in Beaumont.

Missing Jasper man accused of defrauding Tennessee bank

New details emerged Wednesday about a Jasper man who has been missing since Thursday of last week.

Alfred Wright was last seen November 7th at a convenience store in Hemphill.

His mother tells 12News, Wright has physical therapy clients there. Wednesday, 12News obtained a federal indictment that charges Wright with embezzlement.

Wright is accused with defrauding a Tennessee bank out of more than $1,000 sometime in January, 2011.

Records show missing Jasper man facing federal charges

New details have emerged about a 28-year-old Jasper man who disappeared Thursday of last week near Hemphill despite no leads in regards to his whereabouts.

On Wednesday, records revealed that Alfred Wright has been charged with Theft, Embezzlement or Misapplication by bank employee in a Federal Indictment between the time periods of January 3, 2011 and January 26, 2011 in Memphis, Tennessee.

New information on missing Jasper man

Law enforcement officers are not drawing any link between the indictment and the disappearance of the 28-year old man.

Information from the federal court system shows a grand jury in Tennessee indicted Alfred Nehemiah Wright for theft, embezzlement or misapplication by a bank employee. According to a federal spokesperson, the indictment stems from an incident in January 2011.

Court documents show he was arrested and appeared in a federal magistrate's courtroom in Beaumont in April. The court appointed a public defender. Wright posted a $50,000 bond and was released. According to the federal court system information, the charges are pending.
