Assistant Harris County District Attorney Mia Magness said in court that Clarke told at least two people that he shot Elkins. She did not give details on a possible motive.

A Montgomery County grand jury indicted a Houston man Thursday for the capital murder of his girlfriend in July.

Law enforcement arrested 31-year-old James David Clarke Jr. July 30 for the murder of Amber Elkins, a mother of a 9-year-old. Clarke allegedly had been dating her for a few weeks before her disappearance July 24.

Clarke allegedly shot Elkins in the head before placing her body in a duffel bag and dumping it in the Porter area, according to court records. He then allegedly dropped her vehicle at a car wash on Homestead, where it sat for more than a day before the owner of an adjacent business noticed its broken window and blood stains covering the interior.

I just watched The First 48 marathon & Amber's case was the last episode of the night/morning. The update stated Clarke was convicted of 1st Degree Murder & sentenced to life. He deserves to never see the light of day again a free man. (Or worse, :moo: )

I found this link

http://montgomerycountypolicereporter.com/30-years-for-murder-2/

What he put Amber's family through, with his arrogant silence, has been preserved for posterity. I pray Ava will be strong enough to handle the truth when the time comes. May Amber RIP :rose:
