Bakersfield police press releases acknowledge when missing are recovered. I did not see an update on the missing MS Descamp. See link above.

Also, I find a lot of eye of horus tattoos. They are suppose to give you protection in life and death. To me this girl's appear to be different. Hmmmm....

Those tattoos with the symbols are very, very strange.

Are they gang related?

The stars are compass stars, again significant of the Marine Corps. I hope no matter what her affiliation to the Marines was that she is identified and given a proper burial.

Quick summary from what I remember:
-There's an emergency psychiatric facility nearby

-She was wearing a lot of clothes for the weather

-She was wearing doc marten low boots, black, probably 1460s (MSRP $120-$200)

-Her tattoos COULD symbolize entering and exiting the Marine Corps

-Her tattoos are quite homemade and both consist of a 4 point star, an eyeball, what people have described as "veins", "lightning" or "cracks" and a latin phrase with a Marine connection

-There was a biker event nearby about a week before

Questions regarding the boots:

-Are the steel toed?
-What color were the laces?
-Are there wear patterns typical of motorcycle riding?

Questions about the tattoos:
-Is it lightning, veins or cracks?
-Is the 4 point star a cross? A natal star? A compass?
-Which one is older? (I tend to think the better one is older based on the quotes.)

Other questions:
-Have her prints been run against armed forces?
-Do all the clothes appear to be hers or could, say, one of the shirts seem to belong to a loved one (if the tattoos are in memorium)
-Was anyone turned away from or seen lurking near the psychiatric facility?

I can still see posts #1 through #100 of the first thread because of personalized console settings, that is my page 1.

Post 100 is by Peliman at 11:28pm 7-9 comparing the 2 eyeball tattoos of this UID to the 2 eyeball tattoos of the young male that was found drowned in the same vicinity last year. (not the 1:10am last post by AstroKitty that you can see when viewing the results by austin tag.)

I could paste all 100 if this is not going to be resolved, but not jumping in & doing it if we don't need to.

Clicking on the austin tag in this thread brings up both threads side by side. It shows only 100 posts in the old thread, but when I view page1, I do have a page 2 showing that I can not access which would be post #101 up.

The young man that drowned in the same Town Lake/Zilker Park/Lady Bird Lake/Barton Creek area last year was an Army veteran, not a Marine. His obituary lists a 6 yr old child. There is a forum on fishing if you browse around that his mother has posted in. No mention of a significant other besides the child support issues with the mother of his child. I did see mention of bipolar issues with him, too. I think the tattoo similarities are uncanny but don't feel like they are related.

I was thinking about the "two shirts" she was wearing, and I wonder what kind of shirts they were. I remember back in 2007 and for a time afterward it was very "in" to wear 2 t-shirts together, so that you would see both shirts and they were really long to cover low rise bluejeans.

Yeah, it would be helpful to know more about the shirts, all right. Two t-shirts is still popular, especially if different sleeve lengths.

Ran across this thread on WS. Height good, weight good, hair good, age good. Has the widows peak. From Newport News VA. isn't that a military town. What do you think? Also wondering if she had facial damage from the gunshot wound?
