Was the elevator not working in the building that night?
From the policy: H. Policy Restrictions - The restrictions of this policy shall not apply if an off-duty officer acts within the provisions of current state statutes to protect the employee's personal property. In this case the officer is acting as a private citizen. These seem to speak directly to AG's situation she created.

Absolutely. Now, some might argue that Stand Your Ground laws might be in play.
Thank you DisturbedConcerned,Several residents there are posting stuff on facebook and twitter showing walk arounds, how the doors work and so forth.
I haven't read anything about the elevators not working although I do recall seeing a 5th search warrant dated the 14th seeking elevator records. I believe it requires a resident key to operate.
May I ask you to state what you are linking to in the future? Some here are not Twitter users and others may be suspicious linking to something that is not defined. Thanks.Delete
Ok, here is an article with similar information:Actually I do remember reading somewhere about the above points 1 and 2... But not worded exactly like that, not to mention I think it was said 12-15 ft. Without a link, it is not possible to verify, but I can check.
Don't remember seeing point 3 reported anywhere at all.
Evidence from Botham Jean’s apartment supports Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger’s account that she shot Jean from across the room as she stood inside his apartment door, two law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the case told The Dallas Morning News.
One of the law enforcement officials said Guyger has always said she was in the doorway but Jean was not. The same official said Jean was 12 to 15 feet away from the door when first responders arrived.
“That is where he stood when he was shot and where he fell,” that law enforcement official said.
The law enforcement official said police spoke to one of those witnesses the night of the shooting and the witness did not offer that account to police. Law enforcement, however, is looking into those accounts.
Thank you DisturbedConcerned,
I am wondering why it appears that EMT brought Botham on the stretcher down the stairs instead of using the elevator.
'You get to a boiling point': Botham Jean's killing revives community's expectations of injustice | Dallas | Dallas NewsThat dynamic, layered with the lingering frustration over a pattern of police violence against black men who committed no crime, has prompted skepticism, anger and fears that justice will prove as elusive as it has before.
"There's this fatigue and frustration that has definitely hit a nerve, because we just want it to end," said Pastor Richie Butler of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Dallas. "You get to a boiling point."
As such, the killing of Botham Jean has provoked a visceral reaction.
At Friday night's march, demonstrators made their first stop at the South Side Flats, where the fatal encounter had taken place.
"This is sacred ground," activist Dominique Alexander told the crowd as many knelt for a moment of silence.
"We will not tolerate this anymore," he said, as a peal of thunder shook downtown and the rain began to pour.
The Rev. Jeff Hood, a Dallas activist, added: "When the thunder is rumbling, you know God is with you."
There is a "Shooting incident fact sheet" floating around on FB, supposedly sent out to "Mayor and Members of the City Council" from "Asst City Manager Jon Fortune" the day after this happened. It states the initial understanding was that the officer was working security at the apartment complex and had a master key. Now where would that info come from?
I've been waiting for msm to pick it up so it can be discussed here.
Anyone have any contacts in the local media world?

Thank you, I ask because a video I wanted you to post for me appears to show that Botham was brought the long way down the stairs.I actually didn't catch that detail although if that is what happened, it is a good question. Perhaps the elevator was known to be turtle slow or they had cleared all unoffical personnel and didn't have a key handy?

I thought it was strange also since no one could perform life saving measures and also a much longer way. That is strange to me. They would not have been able to continue CPR easily on the stairs. In many buildings near where I live, the security team/person has the key to hold the elevator on a floor for a medical emergency until the EMS team is ready to go. Did the EMS team walk up the four floors? Or, use the elevator?
It is not YouTube it is a Facebook video that was live.A video file on your device or have you uploaded it say, to youtube?
What is the file size?
IF is is hosted, already published on the net anywhere, all you have to do is copy and paste the link.
Youtube URL or embed codes are easy as well.
Gigglingtoes, where did you find Phillip T. Livingston for Dallas' facebook post? Do you have a link or a full page screen shot? I followed the link supplied and didn't find that post.
