Police searching for missing 37-year-old woman in Houston

MISSING: Brittany Leigh Burfield - Houston, Texas (06/25/18)

Brittany Leigh Burfield, age 37, was last seen on June 25, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Brittany has a 2” tattoo of a female Egyptian eye on the back of her neck. Brittany left her mother’s house in Sugar Land at 2pm. Her vehicle was located in the Westchase area of Houston on June 30. Brittany was last seen wearing a dark colored skort/(skirt/shorts) and black sleeveless V-neck shirt. Police seek Houston woman missing since June 25

Her home is in the 8700 block of Ilona Lane, which is inside the Loop near South Braeswood and Stella Link.

Police found her car in west Houston, near Richmond Avenue and the Sam Houston Toll Road.

Her recent facebook posts are all posts of her selling used fashion and home stuff. Could she have met someone for a "sale" of something and it went bad? We don't buy or sell on Craigslist just for that reason.

More recent MSM says 3 drug dealers were selling drugs out of her car and had her phone. They don't say how they know that, but I'm assuming an arrest. Her Mom received texts from that phone but believe it was someone pretending to be Brittany. Police searching for missing 37-year-old woman

Family fears the worst in disappearance of 37-year-old woman

"I'm afraid she's not alive. She would never go off and leave her cats and she would never go a week without contacting me never," said Valentine.

"I felt queasy there was just something odd. I kept asking her to call me, and the text message said the phone was broken and she was with a new guy she had met," she explained.

Mom gets odd text messages from missing woman's phone

"The apartment was unlocked and she had things missing out of it. The cats have obviously not been fed all week, which she would never do because they were like her children," Valentine said.

The focus of Tuesday morning's search is expected to be at Deerwood Road near Harbor Oaks in west Houston.
Her family is expected to join the search. Valentine fears her daughter is in danger.

Search begins for missing 37-year-old woman last seen June 25

At the request of the Houston Police Department, volunteers with EquuSearch gathered to look for Burfield in a wooded area along Deerwood and Harbor Oaks near Beltway 8.

Crews searched on foot through the thick woods and also rode all-terrain vehicles while combing the area.

MSM said Mom's private investigator found the car. BB has multiple drug arrests on record and her employment has all been working for her Mom's small LLC. I bet her Mom has more of a handle on who she hung out with than LE, hence the find of the car. I hope she can find her daughter.

Man's home being searched in connection with missing woman

Houston homicide detectives are searching a man's home in connection with the disappearance of Brittany Burfield, last seen on June 25.

On Thursday, police say their investigation led them to the home of Alex Jerome Haggerty, an acquaintance of Burfield. They say they found some of Burfield's missing items at Haggerty's home and in the yard.

Haggerty has been arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.

Clothing possibly linked to missing woman found at home in Third Ward area, police say

Evidence possibly connected to the disappearance of 37-year-old Brittany Burfield was found Thursday at a home in the Third Ward area, police said.

Detectives said officers were executing a warrant at a home in area when officers found clothing that could be linked to the Burfield case.

Search intensifies for woman whose items were found at man's home

On Thursday, homicide detectives arrested Alex Jerome Haggerty, an acquaintance of Burfield, on an unrelated charge. He was also questioned about her disappearance.

Investigators searched his home on Drew Street in Third Ward and said they found some of Burfield's missing items at the home and in the yard.

Burfield's relatives say they had seen Haggerty driving her car. They tell ABC13 they are determined to know what happened to her.

EquuSearch volunteers will meet at a church in the Third Ward for Friday's search because it's located less than a mile from Haggerty's house.
