Another interesting note. (Yes, this is bugging me.)

****snip

I can find no one else who has posted that she has been found, even if they posted about her being missing before.

So we are now talking about 54 hours since it was posted that she was found.

TES has removed the found update from their site but left the missing and search information there.

There has been no news article to verify it.

******snip

I'm confused.

I agree this is very confusing! She is listed on TE website (not cache) under "Missing Persons" "Active Cases".... I don't get it...

I still see nothing, anywhere other than that one questioned facebook post, the cache from the quickly deleted TES post on the google search and this thread which as far as I know is based on both of those.

I see nothing else which verifies or even alleges she has been found. :waitasec:

Maybe she took off again and they are having to re-search.
Or maybe the one they found turned out not to be her.

I am thinking that someone jumped the gun and assumed too quickly she had been found, when it was simply a sighting. I don't know... I would think either way it would have simply been clarified, not deleted altogether.

I don't know, I just think there would be something more concrete after 84+ hours. It doesn't generally take that long for a family to update that the person has been found.

It's weird. But it was a bit weird from the start, so I guess that shouldn't surprise me.

Candiace Terry IS still MISSING.

Candiace is NOT known to be safe at this moment and is not home with her family right now.

I have gotten a conclusive answer straight from TES.

Candiace was home, but is now missing again. Which is why the update was there and then gone. Her Mom is still asking for help, continuing to print fliers and getting the word out.

(I am PMing mods with where I got my information, in order to get the thread title changed. If those mods are not here and there is another mod I need to PM it to just let me know.)

Okay what? :waitasec:

I'm completely confused.

According to TES, Candiace is missing again..... so will be removing the 'found safe'.

I received the info and changed the thread prefix accordingly.

Hopfully Candiace will be found safely soon!

So she came home then left again? Are we to assume that she is voluntarily missing at this point?

This is confusing....

Yes I believe she is missing voluntarily. I have not been officially told that, but I do agree it's probably safe to assume. There is no indication they feel she was abducted.

However, that doesn't mean she is safe.

In MY opinion and not from my talking with TES.....

I believe there is more to the story or TES wouldn't be searching. There is definitely some piece of the puzzle we are missing here.

TES searches for voluntarily missing minors...because they are minors...but not usually voluntarily missing adults when it is obvious they are voluntarily missing. They do not have a lot of resources and there are a lot of people to search for. Unless there is a factor which puts that voluntarily missing adult in some form of danger they generally don't use resources on them.

So until TES stops searching for Candiace, I will believe there is some factor involved which causes them more concern. A physical or mental health issue is the only thing I can really think of.

That is just my opinion however and I could be completely wrong. For all I know TES could simply be involved even though she is a voluntarily missing adult, because it is actually IN Texas and therefor isn't using many resources. I do not know.

One odd part for me is I never received the TES call saying the search for her had ended. I am a TES member and part of the SAR team in Texas. I get a recorded message with every search commencing in Texas. Sadly this was in Houston (I'm in Dallas) and couldn't help. TES always calls a day before the search is to be organized and call again when the search has ended. I never received the last call on Candiace.

We saw the strange FB post and then she vanished from the TES website. Your call at least confirmed maybe why they took the post down. However, they usually always leave their "found" stories on the website.

This one also oddly had no media coverage. Just a lot of strange points and no obvious answers.

TES did say specifically that is why the post about Candiace was put up, then taken down. I talked to the person who put it up.

The fact that you haven't received that call adds more credibility to the fact that they are still searching.

I do not find the lack of media coverage odd. Did you see the one interview with the mother on Jane Velez Mitchell? Media doesn't tend to interview people when they end up answering the questions for them. I highly doubt she is being proactive with the media at all.

Would you agree that if they knew for sure someone was simply a runaway adult, TES would generally not put resources into that person?? Trying to find someone who does not want to be found and is legally allowed and capable to make that decision?

Would they be more likely to search for someone who didn't want to be found, just because they were right there in Houston?

Definitely strange. :waitasec:

Is the family originally from California? I'm wondering because of the "Cali Girl" tattoo she reportedly has. So would this be a move back to CA?

does anyone have any updates? facebook updates? TIA

Not a single one. I am thinking that they have maybe decided to let it go, since she is obviously gone voluntarily? I'm not sure.

Her Mom's facebook does not have the missing flyer as the icon anymore.

TES has not updated.

I have not had time to go through all of the friends to see if anyone individually has updated. If anyone with a facebook would like to login, or anyone without one wants to just keep refreshing and keep track of who they have looked at... then here is her facebook. http://www.facebook.com/friends/?id=1035782008#!/profile.php?id=1490894145

The only records I could find for "Candiace Terry" on Intelius are someone from Houston TX like her so it seems like a very unusual name. FWIW, someone using that name joined Etsy in 2011. http://www.etsy.com/people/iambiguous
Hopefully it means she is safe and sound.

This is a blog she wrote while studying abroad in Cairo

Her blog about studying in Egypt in 2008 is interesting. I wonder if she made a lasting connection there at that time, and, during the upheaval of the government there several years later, wanted to be a part of that. I know the timing does not exactly line up correctly, but things had been brewing there for awhile, so it is possible she wanted to be where her friends were if they were active in the movement. Because of the political implications, and inherent risk of involvement in anti-government activities, it would make sense that public details about her disappearance are murky. This is all speculation on my part. Just trying to understand it since she went missing in my neck of the woods.

Might this be her? Someone with the same name from Abilene, TX. I've disguised the url as it has a father's identifiying information in it, in case it is not her.
