Hi, not sure if this has been posted already, just getting in, sorry if its a duplicate:

Woman who drove into flooded ditch still missing in Rosenberg
[I've snipped the photo originally attached - Forager]

"ROSENBERG, Texas -- The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman whose vehicle was found submerged in a ditch Tuesday afternoon in the Rosenberg area.

The car belongs to Alice Tovar, 73. Her daughter said she never showed up for work Tuesday at the Chevron on Gerken and Highway 36.

The 2000 silver Ford Crown Victoria was found at 3343 Gerken Road near Band Road in the Rosenberg area."

FindHG asked me to plot the location at which the car was found:

Thank you so much, Forager. I've added some screen shots of the google tilt view of the area from google tilt view of the area. There's a creek across, down the street from where her car was found and another northeast of it.

Very welcome! I've now added a marker on the map to show where she was found, a little over a third of a mile from where her car was found.

I can not ever remember anything even remotely like this and so widespread. There have always been flash floods where one small area or town or creek floods now and then but this ongoing and seems like the whole state. Prior to this rain beginning a few weeks ago, I remember hearing that Midland and Lubbock areas were getting 9 inches of rain one night and more rain after that so I'm sure there is a lot of damage up there they are recovering from still. Good ole El Paso, high and dry, but the rest of the state is screwed and even very northern Mexico near the border has has flooding and tornadoes. So commong you hear " Pray for Rain'' in Texas because we are so dry and in drought. I know throughout the coming year this rain will benefit many , but for right now this is a nightmare.

Wow, as far north as Texarkana !!!!!!!!! Unbelievable !

ETA from the same TXDOT fb page ... Amarillo got hit last night again , as well.

''The Amarillo District of TxDOT has shut down US 83 from Canadian to about 6 miles north due to fallen trees covering the roadway. Several suspected tornadoes in the area have caused some damage to structures and tree lines.''

""I'm going to miss her very much," said Issa Konsul, the victim's husband.

No, I'm in DFW . Never met ski :( I don't recall. I can remember outer Houston area flooding badly but it was from a hurricane.

Is Galveston flooded? A girl is missing and I don't know the area so I don't know what this means.

''The girl was last seen swimming off 57th Street and Seawall Boulevard just after 3:50 p.m. ''' Do they mean a beach at that location or was she swimming in a street because the waters are so high ? TIA

ETA It IS in the water, so unrelated to floods, sorry about that.
