Found Deceased TX - Gayla Roy, 28, Houston, 11 Sept 2017 *Arrest*

HOUSTON - A 28-year-old woman is missing and hasn’t been seen since last week, the Houston Police Department said Tuesday.

Gayla Trenice Roy was last known to be at her apartment complex, at 5050 Sunflower St., officers said.

A report came in Sept. 12, saying Roy was last seen about 9 p.m. Sept. 10, before going to work, police said.

Roy is employed by the U.S. Post Office and reports to the processing plant at 4600 Aldine Bender Road.

Co-workers said she worked Sept. 11.

A mother of two young boys has been missing for nine days, and family members are asking for help to find her. Gayla Roy was last seen dressed in her US Postal Service hoodie, leaving the main post office complex on Houston's north side. She never made it home.

"She was last seen by her coworkers at 6:30 a.m on Monday (September 11,) said niece Senecia Reamo. "She actually talked her dad, she was in the car, getting off of work."

According to the map (link) it is about a 23 mile drive from work to home. That leaves a lot of room in between for trouble.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The boyfriend of a missing postal worker who disappeared on her way to work in September is facing federal charges in her kidnapping.

Don Gaines, 30, is accused of abducting Gayla Roy and taking her from the Houston area to Louisiana to kill her or dispose of her body, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The U.S. Attorney says Gaines allegedly choked Roy in her car until he thought she was dead.

Then, he allegedly drove the car with her body inside and she regained consciousness, according to the charges.

Gaines allegedly continued to drive Roy across state lines on I-10, before taking her into the woods.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Gaines shot Roy in the head and then abandoned her body in the woods.
