This is so hard to deal with because all the action with searches, etc. seem to indicate they are looking for her little body. What in the world do they know that points in that direction?

Ok, while the thread was closed, I had time to read this one at least. When I came on earlier, I thought that this was something that had just happened recently. After I talked to Billie I watched the interview, so I can see where the confusion is coming from. I had no idea that Billie had talked about this to MSM yet.

I hope LE has something with this, and I am not going to elaborate much more on what Billie said. I do not know if KTAB cut most of the interview themselves or if LE asked for it to be censored.

What I will say is that LE informed Billie about the threat. She did not know about it until about 2 weeks ago. It was reported by someone else over a year ago, and I have no idea why Billie was not made aware of it at the time it happened (either by LE or the person who originally reported the threat).

The person who made the threat is not one of Billie's friends (or connected to SA). I can't say anything more about him. LE has been looking for him even before they told Billie.

BBM. This statement really frightens me, but I hope they find that precious baby girl one way or another.

"This may go on for the indefinite future like this, so we've got be prepared to be patient and stick to the details. The devil is in the details and so that's kind of where we're working from."

Shawn Adkins, the former boyfriend of Hailey's mother, Billie Jean Dunn, continues to be the only named suspect in the case. There have been no charges.

Well I just have a sunken feeling in my gut now. What kind of a person threatens to hurt someones child? What kind of shady people have been introduced into Haileys life? Not once. But twice. How many more are out there? This makes me very sad.

SA said that he last saw HD at approximately 3:15 p.m., and she was on her way to her dad's, and then MB's. She never arrived. So if the 'mystery' man abducted HD, he would've had to intercept her as she walked across the field to dad's. IMO, that's a very small window of opportunity...

This is all very unusual. I thought the dad of the little boy was thought to have a motive last week now there's someone else? If so many untrustworthy and possibly motive minded dangerous men were running why was Haylie allowed to walk around alone? Was she afraid of these men, did she tell her Grandma about them, did she even know about them? Giving a press conference to ask people to continue to look for Haylie is good, but why not let the Texas Rangers handle the rest. IMO, correcting misconceptions isn't a good idea, because the only thing she could say about that is that SA didn't do it. If she can say that he was able to account fully for his whereabouts, then of course they need to keep checking out everyone, but does BD not want there to be any land or water searches?

We have finally made contact with some of those on the ground and are starting to get a grasp of things, I think.... though that seems to change by the minute.

How convenient that this information comes out of nowhere 30 days into this child's disappearance. That poor child - I don't believe she ever had a chance. MOO.

I hope we're going to see stuff like this:

- At 6:30 I was picked up for work by a friend who drives me to work every day.

- At about 6:45 we went through the McDonald's drivethrough on xyz St to pick up coffee and Egg McMuffins. We do this about 3 times a week, not on any certain days, just when we're hungry and one of us suggests it.

- At about 6:55 we arrived at work. I remained at my desk until my lunchtime at 12pm. During that time I received 2 calls from Shawn, and made one call to him. Nothing remarkable was discussed. He just wanted to know if I wanted meat loaf for dinner, then he wanted to know if I wanted mashed potatoes, and I called him to tell him I wanted cherry jello for dessert.


Just facts. That's all I want. Please, God.

It seems to contradict LE stating that they are looking at close associates of SA. mo

There's a couple routes to search. One is from SA home to work. The second is from his work to BD's home. The third is from BD's home to SA's home and several miles between each. An additional route is shown, maybe locals can confirm. Map photo capture from NG show 1/12/11

why was this threat not followed up on at the time of the report of it? LE never questioned BD if she knew the guy nor told her ...but there was a police report made over it. odd.

Does anyone have a link to anything that discusses Billie herself has not fully cooperated with LE from the very beginning? All I remember reading is that LE said something like (paraphrasing) 'family member's stories have been inconsistent.' I realize that plenty of news stories have come out about Billie 'walking out' of an interview, but does everyone realize that Billie was questioned for over 10 hours, it was around midnight when the interview ended, and that LE are the ones that took her home that day?

I do not see where LE is saying that Billie is not cooperating. From what I can see, LE is not acting that way. Yes, Billie was very frustrated with the way the investigation started out, but that was in the first week or so after Hailey disappeared. From the very beginning, Billie has told LE everything. And then she tells them again. And again...

I don't think it is just me that wonders where her not cooperating has come from. Any locals want to chime in on what they think LE believes?

So LE was told by someone that I'm getting they believe...that a threat was made against BD and Hailey? Yet noone felt BD needed to know so she could perhaps be a bit more cautious?

I don't think LE, WS sleuthers, Find Hailey FM members, truckers on HW 120, or NG viewers have stopped searching for Hailey as a result of frustration with inconsistencies and recollections of Billie and/or Shawn. In my opinion, if Billie were to hold a press conference to set the record straight and lay out the whole story, it would come across as her focusing on her image again, rather than Hailey. Also, it could look like she is trying to get the public on her side vs. LE's side. That would be a bad perception to perpetuate. It has to be a team effort, as I'd guess Marc Klaas advised her.

I personally believe that Billie should do everything you suggested with LE/FBI behind closed doors. Tell her whole story, the whole truth and nothing but, no matter who looks good or bad, because Hailey is more important to her than what anyone thinks. The public hasn't stopped searching because of Billie, those of us that are trying to fit all of the pieces together just get roadblocked, imo, by her inconsistent statements. It makes it hard for us to move forward without the basic foundation of the situation and a time line. We still don't know when she was exactly last seen. From statements made recently, LE appears to be struggling with these same challenges.

If Billie were to proactively suggest an all day session with LE to tell her whole story and answer any and all questions, it would go a long way towards her credibility, imo. Taking the poly would also help.

I understand that you and she don't want people to think bad of her (though I disagree that that's what's blocking efforts to find Hailey). On that front, she could ask that LE tape all of the session so it's on record and she can make it known that she has fully cooperated and will continue to do so, in good faith. She could then circulate a press release to all media outlets confirming that she wants to work as a team with a LE so that Hailey can be found as quickly as possible; noting that she asked for and voluntarily met with them to provide any additional information required to help move the investigation forward. The press release should also include a plea to the public to continue search efforts and keeping an eye out for Hailey.

This approach would truly help move the investigation forward and would improve her credibility with the public, in my opinion.
