Woman accused of kidnapping, killing Austin mother to steal her baby to appear in court
The woman accused of kidnapping and killing an Austin mother will face a judge in Travis County for the first time on Monday.

A hearing is scheduled for Magen Fieramusca, who police say kidnapped Heidi Broussard and her infant daughter from Austin late last year before strangling Broussard to death with a dog leash and passing the baby off as her own.

I've seen two articles so far and neither one of them say, "We'll be in the courtroom."

One says she'll face a judge and the other (I'm about to post it) says she doesn't have to appear. MOO

The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday. Fieramusca does not have to appear in person to the hearing, but her attorney's do. Fieramusca is being held in the Travis County Jail with a bond set at $1,000,000.

That's what I was looking for when I found the above! I didn't think she had to be there. But, my question now is why are there 3 different kidnapping case numbers?

There aren't three kidnapping charges. Something is wrong with your formatting. Cause #302439 is the tampering charge. See below:

Court co-ordinators tell us she is not expected to appear in court for the hearing today. She has not made a court appearance since her arrest.

Fieramusca was originally charged with only kidnapping and tampering with a corpse, but was indicted on a murder charge on Jan. 28. Fieramusca is not here in person, but here attorney’s are. She is being held in the Travis County Jail with a bond set at $1,000,000.

Documents: “The defense has not received a single piece of evidence in the cases pending against Ms. Fieramusca” This was filed Thursday by Jackie Wood, one of Fieramusca’s attorneys.

The Travis County DAs office responded this morning, indicating prosecutors have provided more than 50 items of discovery to Fieramusca’s attorneys. This is expected to be part of the discussion in court today.
