Houston police searching for man who went missing while en route to a hospital

John Jackson was last seen Friday at 5610 Almeda Road where he went for a dialysis treatment. At approximately 2 p.m. he left that location on his way to Methodist hospital, according to police.

Jackson told personnel at the dialysis treatment center he had started feeling ill before his appointment and was going to the hospital for medical help, according to Texas EquuSearch.

Jackson was driving his 2001, burgundy-colored GMC Sierra pick-up truck with Texas license plate number FTJ6507.

Jakcson is described as a Black male weighing 253 pounds and standing 6′1′' tall with brown eyes and black hair.

He was last seen wearing ble jeans, a white t-shirt, an orange long-sleeved thermal shirt and white “Fila” brand tennis shoes with red and blue trim.

Help needed to find missing man last seen before doctor's appointment

John Jackson was last seen before heading to the appointment at a facility on Almeda around 2 p.m., his wife told ABC13.

He was also due to visit Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, but never arrived.

Jackson also has congestive heart failure. According to Texas EquuSearch officials, Jackson may be in some kind of distress and likely needs immediate medical attention.

This link has a phone interview with John's wife. She gives info about his disappearance and clears up erroneous details. IMO, she has every right to be as upset as she is about HPD's response thus far. This isn't your average MP case. John has serious medical issues; more urgency and immediate action was absolutely required. Whachu say, HPD?!?

I've read the articles three times. Did he not show up for his dialysis at all that day? If not, why was he "seen" at Davita (parking lot???) but didn't have his treatment? If he DID have his dialysis and was not feeling well afterwards, the center should have kept him or transferred him to the hospital - certainly not released him.

My late husband was on dialysis for 6 years. CHF often goes with the territory because of fluid build up. JJ is sadly in deep trouble if he is missing dialysis all this time, and yes, HPD has been neglectful. Prayers!

So he pulled into dialysis lot, decided he needed to go to the hospital, and then left to pick up his wife, presumably on the way to his hospital? Ill (or injured?) enough to skip dialysis and head to ER, but well enough to detour for his wife?

Sadly, this makes sense if he wanted to avoid a pricey ambulance ride (perhaps he knew that if he asked dialysis center for help, he’d be sent to ER via ambulance). Picking up his wife also avoids hospital parking fees. JMO.

I wonder if parking lots in the area (Hermann Park in particular) have been checked for John's truck. When I look at the routes he could have taken, that's the only thought that pops into my head. Unless, of course, he became disoriented and took an entirely different route. I agree - with the medical issues he has, this is urgent.

CLEAR Alert issued for missing Texas man believed to be in danger

A CLEAR Alert was issued Monday for a missing Houston man who’s believed to be in danger.

John Kim Jackson, 56, was last seen at around noon on Friday in a maroon 2001 GMC pickup with Texas license FTJ6507.

•To Note: Time last seen states noon; it’s also been stated he was last seen around 2pm in another article and also last spoke to his wife at 2:30pm in another.

Replying to myself, because I told a family member my theory and got the “are you serious?!” look. Apparently I neglected to consider that he may have suspected he had covid. This would explain not walking into dialysis, and would also explain wanting to drive in with his wife - if he has it, she probably does, too.

Do we have any information about the husband/wife conversation?

Houston man missing since Friday found dead, wife confirms

The wife of a man who was reported missing after he was last seen leaving a dialysis center Friday afternoon told ABC13 her husband was found dead inside of his truck.

On Monday, John Jackson's wife, Donna, said her husband was found in his truck in the parking lot to Sprouts Farmers Market on Old Spanish Trail. Donna believes her husband may have suffered from a medical episode. She said the medical examiner's office told her they don't suspect foul play.

Interesting! The wife says that staff at the dialysis center spoke with John while he was sitting in his parked truck. Someone or some people from the staff went to the parking lot a second time, but he had already left. What's with the different stories?

The interview at the link gives more information about John's disappearance. In the interview, John's wife explains (at about the 5:25 mark) that John arrived at the dialysis center but sat in his truck because he was very early for his 10am appointment. She thinks he took a nap. She talked to him by phone a few times that day until about 2:30-2:40pm. He told her he wasn't feeling well so she told him not to drive that he needed to get the ambulance to take him to his preferred hospital. She says someone from the dialysis center spoke with John outside. Apparently the employee went back into the building. About an hour or two later the employee went back to the parking lot. John and his truck were no longer there.

I sometimes have medical episodes where I need monitoring at the ER. Good reminder to. It be afraid to call an ambulance.
