A post someone shared came across my FB timeline. It was about a man in Mexico that they think may be John. Since it was from someone's personal page, I can't share that post, so I went to his missing page on FB and found a this post in the visitor post section.

UPDATE 12/24/16 – We have a new man on this post that appears to be American lost in Mexico. He was seen in Tijuana.

“We have been seeing this American man who is no older then 25 he is in rough shape he needs to go back to America he needs help. Today his eyes were both purple and blue.He is going to end up dead on the streets here if he doesn’t go home.I asked him his name he replied his name was John. Here is the best photo we could get of him.”

Please note that I know a front photo of him is imperative to make a match so I am waiting for one from the person that sent this photo. They now know he goes by the name of John.

There's a new sheriff in town in Hillsboro and he's pledging a new look for a man last seen nearly three years ago.

Hill County Sheriff Rodney Watson, who took office in January, said he's moving the case of John Terry high on the priority list.

Along with a fresh search on Feb. 25, 2017, the sixth such search in recent weeks,, investigators sent evidence to the state crime lab that had not previously been tested.

Wow. Evidence that had been collected but never tested. This is great news. [emoji298]

John's case is on Crime Watch Daily right now. The ex-wife is interviewed and denies having any involvement despite increase in phone contact with John in the weeks leading up to his death. She said she heard something about meth being in his house the day he went missing and the commentator states that police, nor family and friends has heard this before. LE is planning to interview her but are not ready, they are waiting for items to come back from the lab.

Details of Disappearance
Terry was last seen driving away from the Wal-Mart store in Hillsboro, Texas on October 17, 2016. He had been running some errands after work and the Wal-Mart was his last stop. He went in alone, bought pet food, then left and has never been heard from again.

The next day, his silver 2014 Jeep Compass with the Texas license plate number DLL1752 was found abandoned on Hill County Road 2346 in a remote area near Abbott, Texas. This is about 25 miles from his home.

The vehicle was low on gas, the keys were in the ignition and the windows were rolled down. Terry's work shirt and cigarettes were the front seat, and his cellular phone and the pet food he'd bought at Wal-Mart was in the backseat, but his wallet was missing. Investigators don't believe he drove his vehicle to that location himself. There was no sign of Terry at the scene of the abandoned car, and no indications of foul play, but authorities stated they'd blood spattered on the front door of his house, a remote cabin.

One theory is that his case may be related to someone he bought a bed from. Terry was sleeping on the couch at the time of his disappearance, and had planned to purchase a bed for himself. Authorities haven't been able to determine who he was going to buy it from. Foul play is suspected in his case, which remains unsolved.

wish more was known about disappear circumstances, hope more is known but is just being held close to the vest...snooping around NamUs didn't find any UIDs that jump out to me.

There's this guy found in a Texas state park, same height, and the clothes similar (dark pants, tan 'work boots', and a watch), but this would be a 10 hour drive from where JT disappeared so I doubt it.
Texas has a bunch of male skeleton remains listed with no other identifying details. This man found washed out of a lake, age fits, PMI sort of fits, height is an estimation but is few inches too short. However, he was found an hour drive away from where JT's car was found. This UID is about a 3 hour drive away. Another UID 3 hours away, found on a large ranch.

This struck me as kind of odd, when looking for some address for JT I came across an address in Milford, which isn't far from Hillsboro, I am from this area so I am familiar with distance somewhat...anyway I think maybe he and his ex wife may have lived at this address but what I thought was weird and maybe just because it's like a transposition, the address is on HCR 4326...his vehicle found on 2346. You never know what weird things people think of when in the process of committing a crime..

There are more details, theories, and speculation about the events surrounding his disapearance in the article.

Was Central Texas man who disappeared in 2014 murdered?

Hill County Sheriff’s Investigator April Stoll and her boss, Sheriff Rodney Watson are sure Terry was murdered and that the killer, so far successfully, disposed of his body.

Both Watson and Stoll said they’re convinced Terry made it home that day, but blood and other evidence recovered at his home leads the investigators to believe he never made it inside.

“He was murdered right there outside his front door,” Watson said.

And while subsequent investigation has revealed indications of motive, Watson said none has become concrete.

Sheriff Watson said evidence that had not been submitted in 2014 was taken to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab, in Austin, in 2017 and after analysis those pieces of evidence provided new clues, though Stoll would not reveal specifically what they learned.

Investigators asked anyone with information to call the Missing Persons Clearing House at 1-800-346-3243 or the Hill County Sheriff’s Office at (254) 582-5313.

A tip could lead to a $10,000 reward.
