On Tuesday, Missouri City police received a lead of Miles whereabouts in the 16000 block of Blue Ridge Road. While searching a heavy brush and deeply wooded area, skeletal remains were located.

The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to positively identify the remains. Houston Forensics Science Center helped process the scene.

This is interesting. Could the POI, Devante Clark, be responsible in two other MP cases?

A search warrant filed by Missouri City PD asking a judge to allow them to obtain information from Miles' cell phone stated that investigators received information from Texas EquuSearch regarding Clark during the course of their investigation.

"The (email) stated the agency had two investigations dated Oct. 24, 2023, and Oct. 26, 2023, where a subject with the same name (Devante Clark) and same address was a person of interest in a pair of stolen vehicles cases where the victims were never located," the search warrant reads.

ABC13 is working to learn more about those missing person cases and where they stand.

Miles was last seen leaving from her within the within the incorporated city limits of Missouri City/Harris County. This was last date of contact her children has had with their mother.

Her last Facebook post was at 10:35 p.m.

Police said they followed up on a tip and found the bones on Blue Ridge Road.

That’s just four miles from where Karen Miles was last seen alive on August 21st.

The vigil for Karen Miles is scheduled to be held this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church located at 8635 Glen Valley Drive in Houston.

More information about the POI, Devante Clark. According to the ABC 13 article linked in post #25, Texas EquuSearch notified LE that he is also a POI in two other cases they are investigating. In the two other cases, both from Oct 2023, vehicles were located but the people are still missing.

One of those missing people is undoubtedly Destin Henderson who has been missing from Houston since October 24, 2023, and EquuSearch has been involved in his case. His car was found in March 2024. The following link is for a new article, dated Sept 11, 2024 that has the information that Henderson's family has always been suspicious of Clark. The two men had been acquainted for about three weeks before Henderson disappeared.
The family says that Clark was stealing money from Henderson through Cash App. He would show up, unannounced, at Henderson's apartment and Henderson would hide from him. When Henderson went missing, Clark was nowhere to be found, but he was apparently not formally named a POI by LE in this case.

The first part of the long article is about Karen's case.

Following is a link to the WS thread for Destin Henderson. His suspicious friend is mentioned but isn't named.

According to that article, the two potentially linked cases are from Oct. 24, 2023, and Oct. 26, 2023. We know Destin Henderson is the Oct. 24 case. I looked on NAMUS and there's only one missing person's case in Texas on Oct. 26, 2023: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Nestor Diaz, 17, is missing from Dallas.

I have no proof this is the case that might be linked, but it's the only one listed for Oct. 26, 2023. I also couldn't find any news articles about Diaz & NAMUS doesn't state if his car was found but not him. Just thought it was worth looking into.

Miles, known for her philanthropy, was last heard from on Aug. 21. She attended a Zoom committee meeting from her apartment. The meeting wrapped up after 9:30pm. Miles texted her friend, Dr. CT, thanking her for her support for an upcoming event. ...
  • Following that, she posted on FB at 10:35 p.m.
  • The following day, she failed to show up for work as a FEMA employee.
Clark was charged with using a fake license plate and carrying a weapon. He claimed he rented the car from someone named JM, but JM says he hasn’t been in touch with Clark recently.

Friday evening, MCPD reported that the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy that confirmed the remains to be Karen Miles. They also ruled that the cause of death was homicide by a single gunshot wound.

Criminal charges have been filed by Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg’s Office. Davante Clark has been charged with aggravated robbery and capital murder.

Her skeletal remains were found Monday behind a church in a heavily wooded area near where Fuqua meets the Fort Bend County Toll Road.

Even without positive identification at the time of the discovery, Miles' family members said they knew it was her.

From this article:

According to charging documents, Miles was held at gunpoint in the parking lot of her senior living complex in the 10000 block of the South Sam Houston Parkway. Clark approached her with a gun as she was getting into her Ford Explorer and a witness also saw Clark get into the vehicle, records state.
