Nothing new. He just read the press release.

The full press conference will be tomorrow morning at 10 am.

Press conference was disappointing. Hoping tomorrow's gives more information.

Why did LE say the body found and the missing girl were not connected at first? I don't get it.
Probably law enforcement taking a gamble that someone might slip up and say something asserting they knew it was her.

It seems to me that LE doubled down on the statement that Kaytlynn was considered a low risk runaway for a considerable amount of time AFTER it was apparent to them that it was her body at the landfill. I hope it's because they are already moving in on a suspect, rather than because they were blindsided and wanted to buy some time.

What are the conflicting statements that were given by her friends?

I for one think the perp lives in the complex and aware of her.... and she got to landfill via being placed in a dumpster.
The important thing is that because her body was found quickly and the landfills keep track of what trucks were dumping and where LE should be able to narrow down the truck and from that the route and the dumpsters the truck picked up and when those pickups occurred.

Edited to Add: Also, by going through the other trash found near her body they could find things like discarded mail in trash bags that would have addresses that would also help narrow it down. If she were not found until sometime later all of that trash would have been spread around and it would be less useful in helping to determine locations relevant to the case.

Absolutely heart broken.

Such a precious kid.

I'm suspicious of these kids:

1. They were the last people to see her alive
2. They didn't know where she was going for "a minute"
3. The "friends" didn't think she was in danger even though she never returned
4. The friends have conflicting statements
5. The friends just left her dog there when she didn't return?

IM SO ANGRY !!!! THIS IS RIGHT DOWN THE HWY FROM ME !!! I cannot believe as I sat and watched the local news last night they actually said RUNAWAY!!! "nothing to indicate anything unusual" were the exact words the news said !!! and I knew better :(

Maybe she did ' run away' and the perp had pretended to be someone she could trust. Blessed girl. I'm heart sick. I do think terms like runaway put the public at a bit of ' ease' and don't convey the urgency of a situation. I ran away at 15 yrs old for one night. It turned out to be a very wild night with a lot of things I had not planned on and could have turned out very badly but it did not. But I walked out the door and into the car on my own two legs and on purpose.

Why did LE say the body found and the missing girl were not connected at first? I don't get it.

I am not sure they actually did say that due to that statement only being made by one station. Or, I guess they could have a good working relationship with that station and it was LE tactic. I guess :dunno:

I don't even know what to say, except for I expected this outcome. To find a body, so close to the last seen, this was most probable.

I'm pretty irritated by LE's seemingly lack of concern early on. Now, I expect the community should be kept up to date because it could be a danger for the community.
I would hope the morning press conference will explain this mistake. Then again, maybe they are close to making an arrest.
Sad outcome.

Maybe there was some reason why they didn't think it was her at first.

Bedford is literally 10 minutes from where I live. I am so saddened that the police didn't treat this the way they should have. I have a friend who knows the family and Kate was not the type of girl to run away. I feel maybe her death could've been prevented had they taken the right precautions and treated this in the right manner.

LE may have been busy running down info based on what the friends told them???

I'm so sorry, beautiful girl. You were sweet and precious. :rose:
