Details of Disappearance
Grissom was last seen getting into a small dark-colored car near Sunset Apartments in Texarkana, Texas at 3:30 p.m. on September 4, 2007. She has never been heard from again. In October 2010, her purse and some other belongings were found along a creek in Texarkana.

Grissom left behind a son. Her family believes she's no longer alive, but little information is available in her case.

Texarkana family asks for help finding missing loved one

A family wants answers in the disappearance of their loved one.

Latoya Grissom was last seen more than a decade ago in Texarkana. Her family is holding on to hope for some sort of closure.

"She said she'd be coming back," said Dorothy Grissom, Latoya's grandmother. "The baby wanted to go with her, he was crying. She said she was gonna come back and get him. She never returned."

Family seeks answers in 13-year-old cold case - Local News 8

“LaToya liked to live life. She was a happy person. She liked having fun. She liked to laugh and crack jokes. She was a happy person,” explained Grissom.''

“We are very confident that somebody out there has a tip that could lead us in the right direction,” said Harris.

In just the last few months, investigators conducted several interviews, executed a search warrant, and are waiting on new evidence to return from the crime lab.

The article says she was reported missing after a week. Yet she was living with grandma and had two young boys. Something about that is off. Are the alias' due to perhaps due to prostitution or a drug history? I see no information or description of the driver of the car. Even a better location of where her belongings were found might help. These cases with such a huge lag time in reporting missing people and the lack of media attention is appalling

Details of Disappearance
Grissom was near Sunset Apartments in Texarkana, Texas on September 4, 2007. She lived at the apartment complex on Allen Lane with her grandmother and two children. She left home that day without explanation, saying she would be back soon, and was last seen getting into a small dark-colored car at 3:30 p.m. She has never been heard from again.

Grissom's grandmother was watching her children at the time of her disappearance. In October 2010, her purse, a flip-phone style cellular phone, and some other belongings were found along a creek in Texarkana. Foul play is suspected in her case, and her family believes she's no longer alive.

14 years later, search for LaToya Grissom continues

Nearly six months ago, KTBS 3 News brought the story of a Texarkana, Texas, mother desperate to find out what happened to her daughter, LaToya Grissom, who disappeared more than decade ago.

Investigators suspect foul play, but a body has never been found.

Now Grissom's former boyfriend, Brandon Holmes, is speaking out.


"It's been 13 or 14 years. Somebody knows something and they can't say they don't. If these officers are not doing what they ought to be doing, which I'm not saying they ain't, they need to dig a little harder," said Holmes.

Holmes was in a relationship with Grissom when she disappeared.

"Anybody who knows her is going to be drawn to her. She would give you the shirt off her back, even people who didn't deserve her kindness. She was kind to them," said Holmes.

Grissom's friends and family haven't heard from her since Sept. 5, 2007. She was reported missing about a week later, but Holmes says he knew immediately something was wrong.

"The first day went by, and I knew something wasn't right then," said Holmes.

An investigative team with the Texarkana, Texas Police Department has conducted several interviews, but has not yet been able to tie everything together.


Investigators say the case is still active.

Holmes believes someone who knew her, knows what happened to her.

"I think they're close though, I hope they are anyway. With the little information I gave, I hope they get close. I hope they catch whoever did or find out wherever she's at, you know," said Holmes.

Latoya Grissom was last seen by her grandmother on September 4, 2007, as Grissom left her apartment at 1601 Allen Lane in Texarkana, Texas. Grissom walked to the east side of her apartment complex and got into a small dark colored car. Grissom is known to leave for several days at a time, but she always calls to check on her son. Grissom was last seen wearing a pink spaghetti strap shirt, size 32A pink bra, blue jean shorts, an ankle bracelet on her left ankle (description unknown), a toe ring on her left foot (description unknown), a pink and white purse, and blue three-inch heels. In September 2010, Grissom’s purse, cellular phone, and other items were discovered under a bridge in Texarkana, Texas. Investigators have reason to believe Grissom’s ex-boyfriend may be involved in her disappearance.
