Your link takes me to a 1912 skull found in 1975? I do not see anything about a 1937 case of a TX missing father and son.

Luther Blanton, 57, known to have a constant squint
John Blanton, 24, tall and wiry

Both men wore denim overalls and carried 12- and 16-gauge shotguns

Both men were known for trespassing and poaching in the area, which they were doing when they went missing. They were known to have had run-ins with the land owners before.

Mrs Blanton heard two shots just before sundown.
