NEWLY RELEASED: This is surveillance picture of Derion Vence leaving his apartment witg his son May 3, per source. Investigators believe he’s carrying bleach. This is around the time he told police the three (he, his son and Maleah) were headed to the airport.

So thankful for cameras!

Quanell X and Maleah’s mom Brittany Bowen are sitting in the front row of the courtroom. There are also a handful of supporters here. Derion Vence hasn’t been brought in yet. #khou11

I can't guarantee this is accurate, but KHOU is reporting on the discrepancy of dates when mother was "away"

Where is Maleah Davis? Timeline in the disappearance of 4-year-old Houston girl

KHOU 11 News reached out to Harrell Funeral Home in Springfield, Mass. Ron Harold there said, yes, Maleah's mother Brittany Bowens attended her father Benjamin’s funeral on Saturday, April 27.

Bowens says she flew back to Houston the following Friday, May 3, the night before Maleah was reported missing.

So that claim is verified.

Here's the next question. Sherrie tweeted us: “Some of us are hearing from searchers - he has confessed - and the search is officially over. Can you confirm?”

So far, we have not heard from police about any confession, so we cannot verify that. But we can tell you the claim the search is officially over is false!

Tim Miller from Texas Equusearch says there's quote “no truth in that.”

If you have something for us to verify, reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter. You can also email us at verify@khou.

Looks like there's a Hired Defense Attorney AND a Public Defender listed for DV...

Maybe that's why today was rescheduled....he hired an attorney.

Her flight back has been confirmed?

Pure craziness as we attempted to interview Quanell X and Brittany Bowens after the hearing got rescheduled. #MaleahDavis supporters filled the halls shouting insults at Maleah’s mother and blaming her for what happened. #khou11
