I wish the bf would pull his pants up.
Bugs the crap out of me when I see that fashion choice on men.
(Sorry, easily irritated today)

I have seen Tim Miller’s face light up with a smile in person and his face can show such emotion- that look in the video......not good.

Another child missing and presumably dead under suspicious circumstances. :(
The pants sagging thing is very common with fortunately a small percentage of the populace, and continuing to decline in favor.

This is not going to be a popular speculation...but here goes.
Should these two get mother and bf of the year award for "parenting"?? No, it appears they were highly negligent, and they may end up facing criminal charges. Do I think they murdered the sweet child? No, I don't. I think it was one of the RSO's (or non registered) in the complex.

I think the demonstration from the bf is genuine. He doesn't know how to cope, or isn't capable of different behavior.
Guess we'll see.

Amateur opinion and speculation

And we know from other missing cases that many mothers will simply not believe their child could be dead....will refuse to entertain that thought.....not even if they are missing for years.... if a body is not found :(

MOO

I strongly agree. From following other cases here you can see how many times a mother (or father for that matter) refuses to accept her child's death even when it's highly likely. Most of the times when I've seen that quick acceptance it turned out the mother was either involved or else had knowledge of what happened. MOO.

I guarantee you she didn't walk there.

Cell phone pings and car gps data will go a long way toward proving everyone's whereabouts in the days surrounding the time she was last seen..

Again, I agree. I spent time on Google maps and there were only two routes Maliyah could have taken on her own and both were problematic. The complex has fencing around most of it so that would stop her and another route would have her crossing a busy highway unseen. Plus LE said they found no video of her leaving the apartment complex.

And yes, @MimosaMornings let's hope LE has gathered their evidence before the storm hits. I'm confident they have, now I'm waiting to hear about search warrants for the home and vehicles.

We may not get much news while evacuations are in place but if we see an arrest for something not related to Maliyah's death then IMO LE has something. MOO.

And you may be right. I have not ruled out a SO completely. I am giving the Mom and BF a huge side eye right now. Subject to change of course as new info comes to light.

I get it. With what we’ve learned so far there’s nothing to say it couldn’t be a RSO who did this. I’ve thought this was a good possibility from the beginning. It obviously isn’t looking too great for the mom and bf, but question is was it negligence leading to an abduction or did one of them actually kill her? I think it could be either and one thing that’s bothering me is if the mom is guilty the fact she said Maliyah was found on an orange float. If the float was a body bag, like posters have speculated, why would she say this? IMO she really didn’t know and that would tell me she didn’t put her in the water. I’m still technically on the fence.

Side eye indeed. Absolutely no excuse for that type of negligence when it comes to children. Based on what I heard on the news clips, there may be some intellectual limitations at play here as well, whether organic or induced through lifestyle choices.

Amateur opinion and speculation only

I was on the fence until I took a trip through Facebook land. A slew of relatives have opened their pages and are speaking plainly about the situation. After reading all that I have to say I've pretty much joined their side of the fence.

It's a sad situation.

So the boyfriend taught Maliyah how to find her way home "In case something ever happened?" How would that even work? Take a look at the area:

‪EMOTIONAL PLEA: Maliyah Bass’ mother’s... - ABC13-Mycah Hatfield | Facebook
A row of 4 identical apartment buildings. Whether or not either person is involved it bothers me that the boyfriend said he taught a little 2 year old the alphabet, numbers, and where her home was in case something happened. Combined with his comment about Maliyah's mother going in to make him and Maliyah something to eat smacks of a controlling personality. To me.

To be clear what I mean is that he didn't say they were working on these things but rather that he had taught them to her. I know there's a subtle difference but it's what I picked up on. IMO teaching a toddler is an ongoing, unending process. I'd like to know what else the boyfriend was teaching her. Potty training comes to mind. All MOO and pure speculation.

Usually there is a few people that would say she or he would never but it's all been negative. There must be some previous indication of neglect or abuse. Moo

I do believe they are/were on something.

Also aren't there restrictions where a RSO can live? I would think a playground is one.
