Bless him. Hope they find him fast. History would say that as a child with autism it's a slim chance he'll be found before he gets into some kind of body of water.

SEARCH CONTINUES: We are still searching for 9-year-old Marcus McGhee. There are a few updates: Marcus was captured on surveillance video exiting the rear of the residence on Fite. Marcus left wearing the previously mentioned black Nike T-shirt and black and grey sweat pants however he was not wearing shoes

SEARCH UPGRADED: Under the coordination of the Pasadena Police Department we have deployed volunteer ground search teams to check the properties adjacent to where Marcus had been staying. Additionally, ATV's are now being used to check the pipeline easement nearby. These searches are being carefully tracked to ensure that specific areas are checked systematically. Please do not enter the search area on foot or in a vehicle unless you are part of the coordinated search.

There are bodies of water close by. Praying for a miracle.

Another update regarding searching (approx. 10:30 am eastern)

SEARCH AT CAPACITY: The search for Marcus McGhee is continuing however we are now asking that persons wishing to volunteer to search not come out to the Dad's Club. Instead, we are asking that everyone please check their own neighborhoods and residences. The ground search force is at capacity and the area has been thoroughly saturated. Please continue to monitor our Facebook page as we may need volunteers to come out this afternoon after the rain to search again. Thank you to all that searched through the night and have been willing to come out today. The family appreciates all the prayers and help.

I was so hoping there would be good news now. Continued prayers and hopes....

I used to live in the neighborhood directly south. I still own a rental house there. Lots of my friends are out searching for him. Pearland is a lovely community.

There are several bodies of water and some big ditches. There are also two schools nearby.

I moved to the far west side of Houston. Praying for this young man and his family.

Search intensifies for missing autistic boy in Pearland
http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/p...nderway-for-missing-Pearland-boy-10635136.php

"Volunteers poured out Friday morning to assist police as they continued to search for a 9-year-old autistic boy who disappeared from a Pearland home he was visiting for Thanksgiving.

The boy, Marcus McGhee, was last seen around 4 p.m. at a residence in the 6700 block of Fite.

"Unfortunately there is no new information regarding the ongoing search for Marcus McGhee," police said in a statement Friday morning. "With daylight we are hopeful that volunteers may have more luck with search efforts."

Pearland police said Friday morning that the number of volunteers turning out had the search team "at capacity" but said they may need more volunteers Friday afternoon. They encouraged people to look near their homes and neighborhoods.

Volunteers searched properties close to where young Marcus was last seen, and ATV's checked a "pipeline easement" nearby, according to Pearland police. Volunteers also searched the area of Magnolia and FM 1128.

"There is a bayou and retention ponds in that area that may be attractive to autistic children," police said in a statement."

Marcus is a very cute little boy! Where could this child be? Are children with autism typically attracted to water?

I don't know if they are attracted to it, but unfortunately every time there seems to be an autistic child missing they end up being found in a lake or some form of water.

It's just saddest thing.

PPD update (18 minutes ago)

CIVILIAN SEARCHERS TO STAND DOWN: It is with a heavy heart but one full of appreciation that we must ask that civilian search volunteers stand down. We will not deploy any more search teams today and discourage anyone from searching on their own after dark. We have been overwhelmed by the community's response to our call for help and can't express in a few lines here how thankful we are. You have shown us time and time again that when we need you, you respond not only with your time and willingness to help but also with your prayers. Such an outpouring of support for someone in need is humbling and makes us proud to be part of this community. Overnight we will have additional police on duty to investigate tips and run down every possible lead. In the morning we will reevaluate our needs and let you know through our Facebook page where we need you next. With deepest gratitude, Lt. O. Lopez.

Feeling heartsick that another night will pass without him being found....praying for him!
