Feeling heartsick that another night will pass without him being found....praying for him!

I'm totally confused. Why tell civilians to stand down if they haven't found him?

I wish they would have a ring of volunteers standing guard over all bodies of water until morning :(

My boyfriend's parents live not too far from where this sweet boy went missing. :( I know they and a lot of their neighbors have been out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday and I am holding on to hope that some family will come home from vacation and find him hungry and scared but unharmed in their backyard or garage, but there are a lot of bodies of water in that area and it gives me a bad feeling. Keeping Marcus and his family in my thoughts tonight.

My son was recently diagnosed with autism. This is one of my bigger fears in life now. Heartbreaking. I am praying for him and his family and hoping for a miracle.

Praying for this little guy and his family. My heart is hurting for them.

Volunteers were playing Marcus' favorite music in hopes to get his attention.

After following the sad case of Avonte Oquendo, I learned what a few posters here have already mentioned. It seems water is like a magnet for children with autism. C'mon little dude, please just be hunkered down somewhere too scared to roam!

Safety concerns for civilians, it's dark by 6 pm. Police will still be working throughout the night.

As darkness fell on Friday, Pearland officials temporarily suspended the search effort for the missing boy, citing safety concerns for the volunteers. Police said they were analyzing the search patterns from Friday and are planning a renewed effort starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Police will be sending out volunteer searchers at 30-minute intervals.
...

Even with the civilian search effort temporarily suspended on Friday evening, Pearland police investigators will continuing working throughout the night to run down any possible leads. The department will double the number of officers involved in the search.

Here's an update regarding Saturday search plans.

SEARCH TO RESUME SATURDAY MORNING: The Pearland Police Department and our search partner Texas Search and Rescue have reviewed leads and analyzed the search patterns conducted Friday for Marcus McGhee. Based on this analysis we plan to redeploy volunteers from the Dad's Club parking lot. We are asking that volunteers arrive at 30 minute intervals beginning at 8 AM. This will enable us to send search teams out without backing up the parking lot. We appreciate your patience and willingness to allow us the time needed to better allocate resources for this targeted search.

Heartbreaking and unimaginably inspiring to read the PPD Facebook page. When someone asks if a specific area was searched, several people respond that it was.

Everyone is coming together, offering help to the family, LE and searchers. Tips have included playing his favorite songs, broadcasting a familiar voice and cooking out (in hopes he will be drawn to the smell of food).

Please let him be found safe. We need some good news for a change.

It wasn't any darker last night and they encouraged searchers. Still strikes me as odd.

ETA: Apologies, I didn't mean to sound like I was attacking you. I'm just so frustrated.

No worries, I didn't take it as such! You're obviously more cognizant of what is going on than I am; I just started delving into this. I understand your frustration, and if that is the case, it is indeed strange. Hmmm.

Google map of the 6700 block of Fite St where Marcus was staying. Zoom around and you (general you) can unfortunately see what the volunteer searchers and police are up against. Sigh. I see large areas of water.

Have they determine that he wondered off vs. a kidnapping?

What I saw reported was they know he left the house on his own at about 4 pm, based on video evidence. Of course he could have been grabbed later. That and the water are my biggest fears.

These are the only locations I've been able to find:

missing from a home in the 6700 block of Fite Road, Thanksgiving afternoon about 4 pm

bloodhound track pointed to the area of FM 1128 and FM 518

A hotel clerk at the Hampton Inn on Broadway (6515 Broadway Street) reported seeing the boy walk past the hotel. "About thirty minutes later, a police officer comes in and says they're missing a little boy," she said. "I was like, 'oh my god.'"

*I don't know what order the two sightings occurred but if anyone is good with maps maybe they can make sense of his possible path.
