Identified! TX - Monaville, Wht/HispFem Skel UP6088, 20-35, Mar'97 - Diann Hoelscher

Potential Matches have been submitted to the regional administrator via email. I asked him to let me know of any developments/matches.

Bumping...any news???

No, not since I initially sent their names in. The man was very nice over email and hopefully I will hear something either way soon! (how long should I wait before following up? I dont want to bother him)

FWIW, my money is currently on Ms. Molina, those pictures seem so similar.

I'm new to the UID things, if Maria and Rena aren't in NAMUS, what is the protocol for LE?

Anna Molina is in NamUs, DNA complete. It is difficult for us, in my experience, to have missing persons put in NamUs. However, if a family member sees you post, they can move mountains.

This one might be an easy ruleout from members, but I want to be sure Maria Kimbrell is being looked at.
Maria Kimbrell went missing from Huntsville, TX 6/19/1991. (NamUs lists 1990-1996 as probable year of death for this UID, and 1 year(s) PMI. This confuses me.)
Maria is Hispanic/Latino 65" and 190 pounds. (Can not estimate weight on the UID per NamUs, yet Doe Network has a range of 100-140 pounds for Monaville Doe.)
Maria has a gold-filled window crown on #7 front tooth.
(I am not very knowledgeable on dental terminology and found this. http://www.animated-teeth.com/dental_crowns/t6_dental_crowns_types.htm
Some parts of an "all-metal" crown can look white. - The can be times when a patient wants or needs the strength, durability and predictability that an all-metal crown can offer but the way the one would look would be simply too objectionable. As a compromise, it is possible for metal crowns to be surfaced with porcelain on their side that shows. Dentists refer to this type of option as a veneer or "window." )
Maria may have more extensive dentals but no dental records are available. I suppose that tooth is noted since it would be so easily visible to her friends and family.
Missing from her home in Huntsville, Texas since mid-June 1991. Three weeks after the alleged date of her disappearance, Maria's husband, James Kimbrell (now deceased), told other family members that she had gone to Honduras for a visit on June 19, 1991. There is no evidence that she made the trip.

No dental, DNA or fingerprint information for Maria at NamUs and only a poor quality photo.

Is she out of the weight range when there's conflicting information on the weight of Monaville Doe? Or would a gold window crown on the UID be noted? Thanks, all.

She's now labeled as "Identified" but no other info.

Her profile states that her case may be related to another Doe from 1993, but I can't find that one (none seem to be in the same county).

The Doe Network has several recent Identified profiles up of missing Hispanic women from TX with similar time frames, similar stats as Rena Longoria.

Recently ID'd:

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/69uftx.html

along with a handful of others.
I don't *know* if they are related, it just seems like all of a sudden there are several white/Hispanic women/teens missing in the late 80s and early-mid 90s in Texas that are being ID'd right now, and fairly quickly. No additional info is posted in either the Rena Longoria case, or the recently ID's ones I've listed above.

I wonder if a cold case unit put a bunch of old cases into the system and they matched?

I found this story about her death that seemingly tries to pin it on the husband.

'Cold Justice' recap: Diann Hoelscher (Entertainment Weekly)

A fashion designer, Diann was last seen on February 4, 1986, when she left her San Antonio home to travel to Houston to sell some high-end fabrics. She never returned.
Her remains were found in Waller 11 years later but remained unidentified until 2014, when the University of North Texas was able to match Diann’s missing-person case to the remains through DNA.

We also find out new information that really looks suspicious. It turns out Joe filed for divorce in 1982, but it was never finalized. He then bought the $500K life insurance policy in 1983.

With all of the stories told and the changes, toss in the divorce filing and the insurance policy, and you’re looking at a very strong circumstantial case.
