“Texas police are hunting for a 34-year-old yoga teacher accused of shooting dead the leading U.S. gravel cyclist, dubbed the 'winningest woman in America', because she'd had a brief relationship with her boyfriend.

Kaitlin Armstrong has not been seen since May 13 - two days after the murder of Moriah Wilson, 25 who was found covered in blood at a friend's home in East Austin on May 11.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Armstrong, a yoga teacher, who remains on the run and has deleted all her social media accounts.

Armstrong's boyfriend Colin Strickland, also a professional cyclist, had a brief romantic relationship with Wilson in October when he and his girlfriend of three years were on a break.

He and Armstrong got back together shortly after his fling with Wilson but his girlfriend only found out about the one-week dalliance in January. “

Kaitlin Armstrong trial: Cameras only allowed for opening, closing statements

The judge presiding over the murder trial for Kaitlin Armstrong is allowing media to film opening statements and closing arguments, but not witness testimony, according to a court bailiff.

AUSTIN, Texas — After nearly eight hours, 12 jurors and two alternates have been selected for Kaitlin Armstrong’s murder trial. Armstrong is facing a first-degree murder charge in relation to the killing of professional cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson.

Jury selection is underway for the #KaitlinArmstrong trial. Armstrong is accused of killing cyclist ‘Mo’ Wilson at an Austin home back in May 2022.

There are 100 potential jurors at the courthouse today.

State prosecutor Guillermo Gonzalez is speaking w/ potential jurors. He’s currently giving a presentation/asking questions. One topic covered is how the state would need to prove intent but not motive or premeditation. Some discussion followed.

Posted this tweet to the wrong thread original- but Gonzalez is asking jurors what kind of evidence they expect in a homicide case. Jurors answered weapon, crime scene photos, videos.

Defense’s turn speaking with the potential jurors. Right now they’re asking people, “if the police charge a person with committing murder, the person is probably guilty.”

Defense say the job as jurors is not to decide if she’s guilty or innocent - it’s to decide if they got to the top of the (burden of proof) mountain.

Counsel now bringing forward their lists.

Should be a pretty quick trial. She is so obviously guilty and they have her at the scene of the crime, her gun, etc. Then she tries to escape!!

Not sure what kind of defense they can come up with to combat all that.

I’m thinking they might be so envious at her nasal entitlement (not to mention yoga adventures in Bali and CR), that they smack it in. On the other hand, she might become a prison folk hero for her escape escapade.
