In May of 2013, Paul Westfall was determined to be incompetent to stand trial, but in September that was overruled after Westfall spent time in a state mental facility.
Bond increased on Westfall family members, trial date now set
According to the report, District Judge Delinda Gibbs Walker increased bond to $2 million on Paul, Letha, and Kristen Westfall. The three are accused of capital murder in the deaths of Nathan & Krystal Maddox, outside of the Mt Carmel Baptist Church, just east of Colmesneil.
The three originally had $1 million dollar bonds after they were indicted by the Tyler County Grand Jury on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity. However, that same grand jury recently indicted the trio on capital murder charges, prompting the bond increase.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that a pre-trial hearing has been set for Thursday, May 12th, and the trial has been set to begin on Monday, August 8th in the District Courtroom of the Tyler County Courthouse.

Cameron Paul Westfall, 20, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree tampering with evidence. The judge deferred finding of guilt contingent upon Westfall testifying against his family. He faces up to 10 years in prison for each charge.

As part of a plea deal worked out between the prosecution and defense, Judge Walker then sentenced Westfall to life in prison.
According to prosecutors with the Texas Attorney General's Office, she won't be eligible for parole until the year 2046, when she is 87-years-old.
