Why hasn't anyone spoken much about this case, as far as I can tell? This is a little kid, unidentified for almost forty years with no exclusions on Namus.
I wondered the same thing :( She was certainly old enough for someone to have known her and surely be missing her. Heartbreaking.

This area is sooo remote! She was found near Hwy 285, which would take you northwest into New Mexico and southeast almost to Mexico. But still into nothingness really. But I-10 intersects right there in Fort Stockton, and that would take you west through El Paso and into New Mexico, Arizona, all the way to California. East on I-10 you’d go through San Antonio and Houston before eventually passing through Louisiana and so on to Florida. Geez. She could be from just about anywhere. My gut tells me she probably was not reported missing (at least not listed in the databases we usually look in) and she didn’t come from too awfully far away. JMO.

I had forgotten about the Sena siblings...

Mary Lou Sena – The Charley Project

Missing from Albuquerque, NM since September 1979 (suspicious circumstances). Mary Lou was 9 at the time. It’s about a 7 hour drive from Albuquerque to Fort Stockton, but incidentally almost a direct path down Hwy 285 or I-25 to El Paso and then onto I-10.

ETA: not siblings, they’re cousins!

Could you submit her as a possibility?

I also wondered about Julie Molesey, one of the Fort Worth Three. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I know that she might be a little out of the age range, but what about Mary Loranzo? She would have been nine or ten in 1974. Mary Elizabeth Lozano – The Charley Project

Nelida De Jesus Del Valle was nine when she vanished in December 1976 in Massachusetts. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) Aside from Mary Loranzo, and Mary Lou Sena, I can't seem to find any other girls who fit the age range that were reported missing.

Pecos County is also right beside the border. It could be possible that the girl was from Mexico and therefore unreported.

If I can I find an email address for one or both agencies, I’ll try. I think she’s the most likely out of the three to be a match, but all possible and definitely worth submitting! These poor children!

ETA: Julie was mentioned at the top of the thread, but without a list of rule outs, it’s hard to know if they were actually compared or not

Another unidentified girl, aged 5-7, was found near Ft. Stockton in 1984. PMI was three years, so she would've died the same year this girl was discovered. Their cases are also right next to each other in NamUs (14970 and 14971).
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I wonder if they're connected? I can't help but wonder if these girls were sisters.

ETA- Both sets of remains are partial skeletal, and only one skull was found (for the girl in 1984). I wonder if these are two sets of remains belonging to the same person, instead of being 2 different girls. PMIs can be wildly inaccurate for skeletal remains, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Hmmm. Seems quite possible! Maybe email the NamUs rep and see if they’re interested in forwarding the info? Or if you’re brave enough, call LE directly. I think the PMIs seem close enough. Good find.

Also, with no skull and seemingly no DNA, how do we know she was white and/or Hispanic? Assuming these remains and the other partial child skeleton in Ft. Stockton aren't one and the same.
