I've heard it called a "whiners clause" - anyone who makes a stink and sues is automatically removed from the will and their share divided up amongst everyone else.

There is still a rift in my family after a dispute over a Family Bible in 1972. My brother and I were unwittingly used as pawns in this debacle. I remember having to take this bible to my aunt's house and having it snatched and the door closed in our faces

I read the article and it is a shame such a fight broke out at that time. There was probably a lot of underlying anger and the jewelry was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I am kind of miffed though at the newspaper to allow the writer to characterize the fight as a 'cat fight'. It was a fight between two people who happen to be women. It trivializes and is just plain sexist to label a fight between women as 'cat fights'.

Since it was in quotation marks, I assumed it was a quote from one of the witnesses. I never thought about the term "cat fight" being sexist before. I will have to rethink my use of the term. From the description it sounds quite apt - pulling hair and scratching.

Love it! I am totally asking our lawyer about this.

One must remember that the "cat fight" usage here comes from Daily Mail, a British tabloid not noted for its sensitivity in matters of sexual politics (understatement). It's indeed a sexist term these days.
